The way you play the guitar interacts with the bias of the power tubes (kind of). Some bias excursion can be really pleasant to play. Too much can generate blocking distortion which is not fun and sounds bad.
What is really neat and exciting is that in the real world it would be very hard to go into your amp and manually tweak bias excursion like you can in a Fractal editor. Fractal is kind of giving you the ability to 'sandbox' things that really happen in a tube amp, and make it conform to reality or defy it in a potentially desirable way. There are dozens if not hundreds of ways you can do this.
It would be really neat to take a famous guitar amp, sit down with an amp tech with lots of cool measuring devices, and tweak a fractal model of that amp to identically match it.
