It's a shame it becomes unusable in CRBR format, and the tenpai cards become worthless after we get zero, amatsu and gate. Maliss is so much better than Ryzeal on a Bo1 format it's not even funny.
Ryzeal strength comes in its versatility and huge amount of space for not engine and great consistency. Its end board though the ceiling low, with cross detonato pass being good enough, desu senpai.
On the other hand Maliss is cyberse slop, ie infinite gas one card combos with multiple ROTAs at 3, its major weakness is auto losing to hunter/lancea. But who the fucks will run it in a Bo1 format?

It barely takes up your field. Zombie World is something you'd search out mid-combo after you'd have already used Delta, then you get to add Delta back for free with its GY effect in case you need it later, or need a discard.
It's still not amazing because there aren't any amazing high level zombies to synergize it with, but it's still worth using.

The obvious intended use is to foolish Eldlich, then eldlich sends it to GY to summon which causes it to add itself back to hand.

On a Selection Pack announcement, they usually reveal only 5 of the 13 UR cards.
For Maliss, though it would be better if there were no more UR, that would be delusional so the best you could hope for would be for the 2 other Maliss Link monsters - Red Ransom and White Binder - were to be UR instead.
Reason being both in TCG and OCG all 3 of them are run 1x on 100% of Decks.
But we all know that in addition to that both Dormouse and White Rabbit going to be UR in the end because you play as many copies as possible of those.

The most it can do is use good generic link monsters such as Apollousa and Little Knight.
But Maliss is very hard to stop and it's very resilient to disruption.
They also can slot in an incredibly amount of gas... Gold Sarcophagus, Allure of Darkness, Shifter... even Bystials can be considered gas for them.
If you are still willing to save some gems or use only the expiring ones maybe you can wait for Ryzeal.

The emulator is very fast because no animations and its also pretty quick to download.
If you want to play against AI however you will need to choose ond of the broken decks (and maybe even give it banned cards like pot of greed) if you want a challenge or to test against bullshit.
You can also play against yourself on LAN by opening two clients so you can pretend you are playing against another meta deck (however you will have to be honest with yourself and pretend you do not know private information like handtraps). This is very good for testing.
I like testing shit against myself in LAN because you can play illegal decks in edopro so you can make a deck with 1 of each hopt handtrap to test for resilience.

If those are the options then I'd say Purrely since they can actually make rank 1s. Dogmatika doesn't have synergy with Mimighoul, and its use as an engine wasn't actually any good even when MD released.

The obvious answer of course is neither of those, and just use Fiendsmith or/and Kash. A lot of Mimighoul combos leave you with the ability to make a link 2, and going into Fiendsmith through Closed Moon is better than just making IP. Also Lurrie is a level 1 which can help the deck. And Kash has some synergy because you can reliably get a double ED rip with Unicorn given how Mimighouls force the opponent to activate a card.

The entire gameplan is using board breakers and putting one of their Tenpai on the field and go to BP, ideally with a way to activate their degenerate field spell before that, with Kaimen as plan B. That's why they instant scoop most of the time when you banish their little dragon before they can do anything. The only reason the deck still has results especially in DCs is because it's the best deck to launch a max of games by being less tedious than a turn 1 deck that puts ten interruptions on board and obliterates troonpai. I know the traps can be activated the turn they are Set if you banish a Maliss monster, and that Maliss monsters have floating effects.
So I get why Dormouse is good, and how you can also use White Rabbit as a starter.

But I feel like I'm missing because I don't get how to use Cheesy Cat "properly". She seems like the worst of the bunch.
She feels too random and unpredictable because from what I've read the things you can do with her depend on what you have on your hand or field, sometimes she's good because she can potentially enable Mirror, Underground and give more ammo to Crypter, but sometimes she's useless.
I haven't seen any youtube video about them yet because I think they are dishonest, and I feel more emotionally connected to my decks if I at least try to think and learn shit by myself.

Kash spent time as the best deck in the game and only got consistency hits so players can at times draw a good hand and still feel like the deck is very strong. Also the cards are good in other decks so people who have them for other decks feel they may as well finish the deck itself off. Also it's braindead easy to play.

Maliss still didn't die because it hasn't received any significant hits.
The reason? Of course because it isn't as threatening as the other shit it had to compete against, such as Ryzeal. So it doesn't need to be gutted or killed.
It's still being used even in the Vanquish Soul/Yummy meta, but it's usage rate is lowering every day.
Also it doesn't really win shit. It's a top deck but doesn't win when it's matter.

Historically Maliss has awful conversion rates. On paper it's the best deck in the format and a metric fuckton of people represent it, then it goes to top 8s and a disproportionately low amount of Maliss actually manage to top, none the less win. By results it's one of the most overrated decks in history but people never drop it because it remains the best deck on paper.

That isn't relevant to us though. The problem with Maliss is that in a tournament format, it folds really hard to silver bullets after side decck and even if your win rate on a grind is incredible, you only need to get unlucky a couple of times to lose a tournament. Maliss is certainly going to be the tier 0 deck in MD because there's no side deck. It's far better in MD than it ever was in any paper format.

The "no banlist" tournament was literally just a no banlist tournament. Not a no-limits tournament. Tournaments that actually remove all bans and limits have Tear as the clear best deck by far.
Maybe Tear is a bit over-hit in some formats, but it hasn't been powercrept by anything. It's also not clear what exactly makes a deck over-hit. Should it be hit to where it's playable but mediocre? Should it be hit to where it's on par with the best deck? That's a matter of opinion.
