What I enjoy about this game so far is that none of the characters so far, at least for the 'main group', feel like they act like 'gacha characters' with all the implications usually associated with that.

If you want to know exactly what I mean, just look at Wuthering Waves as an example - most characters in that game exclusively exist for 1) Waifu-bait. 2) Glaze the MC as the bestest special boy ever. None of the characters in that game have any connections with any other that isn't the MC. It's the worst example in the genre IMHO.

Here, they just feel like Persona characters who just happen to be in a Gacha game.

It's fixed pretty much every issue I had with P4/5.
Lufel is a Mascot character actually done well instead of an insufferable piece of shit.
Motoha is one of the best characters in Persona period, not a cardboard cutout of cliches.
Shun is... alright. He feels more like the second Kanji rather than a Bro archetype, which makes sense with the inspiration he takes from Yusuke, they definitely Emperor coded him instead of making him a Magician. Just feels a bit weird not having a bro at this stage.
There's no hardcore deadline of "You have to have X stat by Y date or you're locked out of This S. Link" so you can take things at your own pace, and Daily Life uses a separate time system from The Plot so you can go back and forth at your leisure.
Once you acquire a Persona, you have it forever. If you want new skills on it, you feed it Seals as Skill Cards. No more fusion calculators, no more convoluted inheritance chains.

I think it very much helps that, at least at this point, the writing seems to have approached the main cast like they're just in a normal game to the point that Atlus even stuck to the writing trend for the series which is 1 new main party member per dungeon. You just get the bonus of essentially being able to take confidants into dungeons.

Story's rough but at least the Subway Slammer man is a juvenile concept that's treated with such a deathly seriousness that it wraps around to being the funniest thing I've read in recent memory. It's more Persona 5 which is all most people wanted. It gives me Strikers vibes but it feels less pointless than Strikers did because it has more new characters who are related to whatever the current dungeon is. Strikers really stretched itself to make each dungeon relevant to a party member but it felt a bit contrived and there wasn't anything left to explore for most of them.
I would say the biggest mistake P5 spin-offs make is not introducing enough new characters to explore the development of and carry the narrative. P5X avoids that entirely.

Basically, if Weapon A is level 30 and you equip Weapon B, Weabon B will also become Level 30. This includes level limit breaks, so you only have to upgrade a character's weapon ONCE for the entire game, no matter the rarity - if you upgrade a 2 Star weapon to max and then get a 5 star weapon, the upgrades carry over.

Grind comes in waves. You need to do more grinding than you have stamina for, then you don't have any use for stamina, then you need to do more grinding than you can again. You probably could balance it out better, but it does not happen intuitively for most players. Powercreep isn't big in terms of characters getting obsoleted but it's mostly content comes out that asks for the new character specifically. Like you could do the upcoming stuff with Closer since it's lightning weak, but she does AoE damage so she's not really getting a lot of value on the single target boss so you're better off bringing the new unit YUI. They come up with new content every banner to sell that banner, even if it's guild bosses. It's not like there's a better lightning assassin though. Joker remains the only AoE curse guy, and is only just now being matched with a curse single target character some 15 months after his debut.

Shiisaa is solid early game, being resistant to Phys comes in handy and Zio is solid to have. Carried me through Matadors.
Leanan Sidhe is really useful. Psychokinetic Disruption is better than Mapsio, and available at a point where you're otherwise sstuck with basic Mapsi. Defense Debuff plus 2 hits of Psy damage because of her trait.
Ame no Uzume has basically guaranteed Shock, passively buffs party crit rate with a Shocked enemy, and her Electric Dance and Highlight are both single target nukes for bosses.
Lamia is the fire equivalent of Ame no Uzume; basically guaranteed Burn, buffs party attack when an enemy is Burned, her Highlight is an aoe but it increases all enemies' damage taken in addition to dealing aoe damage and Bonfire Festival is a single target nuke.
Anzu has fixed Magarula to sweep Wind weak mobs. Phoenix has fixed Mafreila to sweep Nuke weak mobs. Technically you could go with Sudama and Suzaku for their fixed tier 1 Ma-spells, but they're a lot weaker than Anzu and Phoenix who you can grab from the Mementos fights.
Janosik is decent if just for his battle start Mark that's basically a Rakunda for free as long as you have him as your initial active persona.
