That's not how this works, unless your AOE is flat X % damage to all enemies. The major modern AOE damage dealers actually deal a lot more damage to the central target by themselves, and Tribbie also deals some damage to them that doesn't get counted. Heck I say modern, even the oldest AOE shill character do. Argenti has bounce, which hits the big targets after the first cleave finishes the adds (in most cases), though bounce in particular is really bad with Tribbie's effect regardless of if you kill or not. Jing Yuan has LL which is hardly AOE to begin with.

Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible, but it's one of those "do what you do really well already anyways even better" things, which THerta and Rappa don't really give a shit about. Those are currently the biggest anti AOE characters. Tribbie is generally overrated here. Not like she's bad, she's good. But some people go too far.
