There, I fixed rune

I have been playing the game for over a week now on both PC and mobile. I am not F2P as I paid $200 for my first deck. Initially, the economy seems to be very bad (500 gold pack price, lower vial from liquefying silvers, and, critically, no liquefy first 3 copies). I thought it would sucks so bad as a F2P player or a low-spender. One week ahead, I changed my mind. The economy is fine and I can enjoy many good decks. In my current opinion, the only thing that need change is the no liquefy first 3 copies rule.

I am not the luckiest player (no 100 packs key jackpot) and neither I do any reroll. Just straight up normal player that buys all crystal package, plus battle pass. Currently, I have 2 top tier, pretty much fully upgraded decks (puppet portalcraft and artifact portalcraft, 3 if you include hybrid). I also have enough vials from extra cards to upgrade my half-baked decks into good viability (ramp dragon, midrange sword, aggro abyss). The only classes where I don't have enough resources to even make half-baked decks are runecraft and havencraft, in which both have very expensive top tier decks (I am absolutely fine with this, F2P players and low-spenders aren't supposed to have everything). Finally, I have around 7000 gold that I save for next expansion (that is still growing everyday) as I am satisfied enough with my current collection.

So far so good. I am having a blast with this game and I have variety of viable decks. So, what happens that suddenly change my mind and my perspective on the economy? It turns out that the economy is REALLY supported by the freebies that Cygames give (Daily packs, park keys, events, events, events (many of them), bonus packs from here and there, and recently, 3 free legendary packs). So, as long as Cygames keep pumping up these freebies, I think the economy is going to be fine.

As much as I hate the no liquefy first 3 copies rule (and expensive cosmetics lol), I can't give the game negative review anymore.

Honestly I’m just having a lot of fun with this game and wanted to post something positive about it after seeing all the negative reviews.

I’ll freely admit that I’m not a FTP player, but I haven’t spent a ton (only $200) and I’m really enjoying the fast-paced experience and play styles so far.

I’ve never played the original Shadowverse so I’m not doing a direct comparison here. I will say however that compared to the CCGs/TCGs I’m used to (Hearthstone, MTG including physical) the cost here really doesn’t seem out of line from what I’m accustomed to with this genre. Again, not comparing to the original, just the experience of a totally new player.

I was going to wait longer to write a post like this so I could speak with more gameplay experience, but I have a few decks built with reasonable success and am having a ton of fun, and because I almost didn’t start this game because of some of the negative posts I wanted to write from my experience to encourage other new players to try it out!

Portal is the best deck but Rune is the most netdecked by tryhards so it deserves all the hate.
Hell most of the review bombing was due to not being able to netdeck Rune day one. Because you could build 3 Orchis Portal, 3 Albert Sword and 0 leggos Fairy. The only two decks you absolutely couldn't build without swiping day one were Rune and Lamp and nobody wants to play Lamp.

I hope next set all Rune support is for Burn Dirt. Ideally not a single card with the word spellboost on it.

Albert is a better Genesis Dragon, Jeno is almost as good as Garyu, Amalia wins the game on the spot if your opponent can't clear it, Centaur is roughly as good as the Shark, etc.

Ramp and overflow should have been an actual mechanic that lets you overflow your pp. You continue to build up to 10pp normally then once you are there you overflow to 11+ based on your ramp. But you only get to use that extra pp if you have leftover pp from a previous turn. So if you ramp 3 times then on turn 10 you have 10 normal pp and 3 overflow pp

Face dragon is unironically the worst deck in the game. Everything shuts it down. I stopped playing this shit but take it from a guy who was playing casually but got to diamond 3 times and also got to AA, in B3 I got 15 winstreak in Diamond. Once you start losing you'll go all the way back to ruby and things will get so bad that you'll lose 10 games in a row even in ruby for no reason.
My account's stats got ruined, I had barely any games in ruby, now it's as high as sapphire and sapphire is stupidly high, when I got knocked down to ruby I legit was losing 5 games before I was able to win one, and I even started thinking that those single wins the game was handing me was against hidden bots in the game.
I had random people and nips adding me due to my sv record and current stats. Before I left it was in a shameful state. Face Dragon sucks ass, it's not even a truly face dragon deck, it's just what resembles to one right now, the other crafts are far more complete.
Everyone playing Face Dragon right now and thriving will get to this point and conclusion sooner or later.
