Rune is awful for climbing because, while it's got one of the most solid gameplans in the game with insane inevitability as long as they don't brick, it takes for-fucking-ever to play out. Puppet Portal goes fast, eats ass, and keeps chugging while having a similar win rate and a turn 8 finisher that they can roll into a turn 9 finish if they drew double Orchis and couldn't land the kill with the first one.
Speed is valuable when you're just trying to dig up through the mud. Notice that the next highest is Abyss, and that's because it has relatively simple play patterns. Storm Haven can be slightly more complicated, but really doesn't take that long to kill either. Aggro Dragon is Aggro Dragon.

You've got to hard dig for D-Climb early and not seeing it means you aren't going to get to use your reset at all. Runecraft gives up topdeck ability for some extremely powerful, synergistic tools. Rune's best topdecks are are dependent on evo/sevo to actually do anything.
This isn't a bad thing, but it's a clear distinction. There are pros and cons to it.

Yes? Less complicated means you have more time on your turn to not fuck up. Simplicity is an actual edge for a large part of competitive play where your rank can't go down. Fewer decision points = faster actions = faster games = more games = higher rank.
Puppet is competent and can shit out lethal reliably without doing anything fancy while Artifact has to spend more time assessing the board state and hedging your bets as to what your opponent is holding in their grip. Artifact is a better deck, but more complicated and will therefore be more difficult to play against players of similar competency.

I don't understand how GRP or individual GRP is calculated. The game says "Guild rank is calculated by adding up the RP and MP of all members".
But when I count it, the GRP is actually calculated by adding up the individual GRP of all members. So I thought maybe your individual GRP is your RP and MP added up together, but my individual GRP is 182 while my RP is 18103 or 1003 (depending on where I look) and I have no idea what MP is.
There are also Guild Missions to raise your GEP, but I have no idea what GEP is.

If you really want to avoid the roach you can use 1 - 2 of baldy for a turn three big body, given you generated enough fairies in hand. You'd also probably take out the Carbunkles if the list you're looking at has them.

If something can go wrong, it will go wrong. Sword is the simplest deck, with the least possibility of something going wrong. Whether it's you fucking up, or bricking, Sword has the lowest possibility of either compared to every other deck. People extremely underestimate simplicity when it comes to something like climbing in ladder. If it was a tourney, sure, Sword wouldn't be that great. But, on ladder, Sword is without a doubt the king.
