How do you wanna see core Armor Progression in TES VI?

>1 level Heavy : Iron / Light : Leather (Crap Hide and Fur armor are reserved for Bandit rabble)

There should be also more specific Advanced Armors like Black Dwarven armor. That is stronger than Ebony Armor but needs to be crafted with Ebony and Dwarven Ingots in a specific Dwarven Forge deep withing a Dungeon. Or special Imperial Armor like royal Gilded Imperial Legionary Armor which is as stronger than Dwarven armor. There's also Heavy Plate Armor that's a little bit weaker than Ebony but uses Steel ingots. Also regional Armor if is in Hammerfell.

I was thinking more like something to make them into legit bosses though.

Personally I would remove random dragon attacks and only retain dragons at dragon lairs, then use those bespoke locations to make them into real bosses.

I've got 200+ mods I need to download to update my modlist.
I wanted to wait until Glenmoril was finished but I guess I gotta start downloading before the bongs get to them.
I guess I could get my graphics and body/skin setup ready first since gameplay mods should be safe.

Aside from them being health sponges as you mention, the baseline gameplay of dragons is atrocious.
Most obvious is that they spend >50% of any given fight flying around doing literally nothing leaving the player waiting around. Before you get dragonrend your only method of fighting them is very slowly plinking them from arrows or spells when they finally decide to stop fucking off and come in range, then hiding from their breath attack behind random props or terrain because there is no other way to avoid them other than tanking it with resistance bulk. This is terrible gameplay but it's particularly egregious since there is literally no way to engage as a melee build.

Then when they do become grounded they are still terrible. They are effectively immobile, so for ranged and magic players it's the same fight as before except even easier since you simply hide behind the same piece of cover from their stationary breath attacks and plink them to death.
Their total lack of mobility on the ground is also bad for melee attackers, because it means the only way to make them threatening at all is to do gigantic damage, basically threatening a oneshot on the player at all times. And they can oneshot you because of the killmove animation bug/oversight/feature, meaning that at basically any stage of character progression frontal attacks from dragons can oneshot the player.

Except underscoring all of this is the two extremely cheesy possibly "intentional" methods of fighting them, either using wards to trivially defeat their breath attacks even on a character with 0 magic investment, or infinitely stunlocking them in melee with shield bashes.
Both of these are so bad that they feel more like bugs than real gameplay, and if they are intentional it's just an even bigger indictment of bethesda's game design.

I wanted to blame this on them being wyverns but honestly I don't think extra legs would help. DD2's dragons are also dogshit. 1's were good (ironically they're called wyverns) so it's not impossible but rare.

You should blame it on bethesda's shit game design, since you know it's a video game and dragons or wyverns aren't real.

The ultimate constraint on them wasn't how many legs they have it's the design of them being able to attack anywhere on the map. The only way to make that idea work on a map as varied as skyrims is to make their attacks as generic as possible, and that's what they did. They fly for a majority of combat because flying works everywhere, and when they do come to the ground they essentially sit in one spot and don't move, another thing that can work anywhere. Unfortunately both of these states are extremely boring to fight.

This is why that anon's idea of giving them dedicated boss arenas would be much better, you could hand craft their combat abilities without being constrained by the need for them to be able to attack the middle of fucking dawnstar or whatever.

I think the problem with melee builds could be fixed with locational damage to the wings causing them to plummet.
You're never going to get rid of the need to use ranged attacks on a flying enemy, but this way the ranged attacks would not actually have to be the source of your damage, you just plink them a couple times and they fall down.

As for the breath attacks being unfun, I saw a YouTube video of a PS4 mod of all things that gave dragons homing projectiles that could be strafed. I think making this the main means of attack for the dragons, while keeping their vanilla breath as a high-risk attack they can be staggered out of if you them during the windup, would make dragon fights more fun.

Wards making them easy is honestly fine imo, wards are fairly expensive spells and most players don't use them anyways.

I remember the gunplay before level cap being improved. Everything else seemed worse though. Characters were truly awful; underpants guy, girl, English woman, main bad guys, etc. Story was horrendous. Aesthetic and art has been going downhill since 1. Late game wasn't good either. They had to make fudged additional difficulty levels because builds were so insanely broken, and the gameplay wasn't fun because of it. Everyone talked for an hour. Unskippable cut scenes. Pic related. Several major parallax-enabled texture packs overwriting each other in my preferred order, so that the earlier ones function as fallbacks for textures the latter ones don't feature. Couple of pointers if you get started on this horseshit:

Don't get suckered by parallax guides telling you to install Auto Parallax, Parallax Blending Fix etc. These are old hat and inevitably fuck you over. All you really need is texture set, its parallax companion set (if not already combined), PGPatcher and the complex parallax parameters set to true in your enbseries.ini (or complex material support in CS, but I don't use CS). Some packs, like Vanaheimr, handle blending for you.

You'll need some form of snow parallax mod, so use Simplicity of Snow over Better Dynamic Snow. SoS snow effects are multipass, which means the mod is able to layer snow on parallax-enabled objects correctly. BDS is single pass, and results in blank textures on parallax-enabled objects where the game attempts to layer snow on them. This was my big issue today.

I follow the modding of several Bethesda games and Skyrim is the most boring of them all. Every time I open the Skyrim nexus page, I know exactly what I'm going to see.
New Vegas modders continue to improve and modernise the game and engine, every time you open the NV nexus there's something for the eye to latch onto
Morrowind gets some pretty big mods and engine improvements from time to time not to mention the mod marathons
Even Fallout 4 gets interesting mods and recently got the first mod marathon
Meanwhile every time you open Skyrim nexus you see the same shit

The game is absolutely miserable without a follower, yeah. My recommendation is to go to Raven rock and pick up Teldryn, he’s probably the strongest character in the vanilla game so I’m sure Requiem made him even worse (better?). Hide behind him. Removing PISS writing like the Hist. Dunmer have got to be the most powerful race right? They seem like the only race with an ego big enough to them literally wanting to reach godhood (Chim) hence why some of the most powerful figures (especially mages) are Dunmer.

Gonna assume you're using Lorerim.

No followers aren't even remotely mandatory, there's even traits that buff your character if you don't have followers (in Lorerim), but even without the traits, you just need to be treat Requiem as a completely new game.

If you're doing missives that involve bandit camps, you better at least have some decent gear, potions and be around level 10+ (depending on the bandit camps ofc). Assuming you're a noob to Requiem.

Here's a foolproof guide to Requiem (specifically Lorerim because i'm assuming you're one of the fags who downloaded Lorerim, found out it's Requiem and are getting filtered)

>level up focusing on your combat/defensive stats (for example, two handed and heavy armor if those are your offensive/defensive capabilities)
>kill wildlife (wolves, saber tooth, bears)
>try your hand at killing bandits in the overworld as they're usually easier (around whiterun for example) and not as plentiful
>only do missives that involve deliveries. I.E "Deliver Potions to Riverwood" etc for easy XP to level up
It's really quite easy. The entire goal of Requiem was making it more like an older RPG where you can't just bumrush dungeons right from the start of the game like you could bum rush Bleak Falls Barrow in vanilla Skyrim. Bleakfalls Barrow now is like a level 18-22 dungeon.

Final tip - If you're using Lorerim, choose the "New to Requiem" option. Gives you a bunch of free perks at the start and also some other shit to make the early game not as difficult (it's still hard tho). Good luck fren

and if your position on requiem is that it's good because it makes you grind mudcrabs for 10 hours before you can do any actual content, then I hate to tell you this but there are easier ways to do that than installing requiem. Wildcat, blade and blunt and every other basic combat mod like that has options for requiem-like damage values where you die from being sneezed on by a squirrel.
