Alouette and Doomwright Resurgence can heal, do face damage, or help board clear. Doomwright Resurgence in particular completely wipes out a Kuon board or can deal 6 damage to face setting up lethal with Orchis. You can do so much chip damage with Alouette and DR. You have to know what artifacts to be making, sometimes it's better to make 2 of the same ones to set up big plays like giving yourself double healing, double board clear, or double damage to the enemy leader. Artifact is really flexible but it's also a lot harder to play because of it.

We've all seen the memes, but realistically, for a small starting set, I think the developers knocked it out of the park with the game balance of Legends Rise. Not only does every class have a viable deck, but the many of the best decks are complex and full of decision making points within each game. On top of that, the decks also have strategic diversity (combo Roach, midrange Sword/Blood, aggro Dragon, etc.) so matchups between classes actually feel quite different. Obviously a few cards here and there might be a bit strong individually, but none of them are so format warping as to pull their class too far ahead of the rest of the pack. Personally, in comparison to the release state of other card games, and even in comparison to many metas years into the original Shadowverse, the release balance state of the game is one of the best I've ever experienced, and I'm really grateful to the developers who put in the time to make it this good.

The only real downside to the current meta that I can see is that due to the limited card pool, each class really only has 1 best archetype, so intra-class diversity is basically nonexistent. As a result of that, many of the best lists are very legendary heavy as each class only has so many heavy hitters,, which is a bit rough as many people still are not close to having complete collections (which is especially felt due to the lack of duplicate protection, meaning that vialing legendaries before opening packs can be counterproductive as you may just open more copies of that same card, essentially wasting your vials). Luckily, both of these pain points should be remedied at least in part by the release of future expansions, the first of which comes out in only a few weeks.

All in all, I just thing the developers deserve significant kudos for their work on Legends Rise, and I really hope their next sets will have the same level of work put into them.

i only play rune and artifact rune feels really tough, puppet feels very easy in comparison. rune can board clear for days and orchis is piss easy to clear as result and since rune can heal for 12, it directly offsets orchis' burst that requires 2 super evolves to pull off, artifact does damage from hand and can't be reacted to because it triggers at the end of their turn so it's harder for me to deal with as rune. the 3 damage from the artifact goes through wards too and that 10/10 finisher does 5 damage to the board when all of rune's taunts have 5 hp. if portal goes first, it can be a challenge.

the times i lose, the portalfags typically have a bullet to put into anne. grea just disappears and portal gets to save an evolve on doing that. so if i play another grea the following turn to spellboost then they can use aloutte to clear it if they have the 5 attack rush artifact in hand and they'll still have board presence since aloute will live unless i blow an evolve on an empty board. that leads into kuon to clear out aloute but the 3 damage to my followers artifact clears most of the board and the only thing higher than 3 health is the taunt they aloutte can hit too.

Sure you get complete blowouts that end by turn 5, but ekeing out wins versus portal is the most intense game of resource conservation you'll ever play. You have to count puppets and artifacts more so than any other class because you have to find a way to get something to stick on board or you just get chipped and orchis'd/gundam'd on curve
Even when not against portal you have to plan 5 turns ahead and aim for lethal, sometimes making bad trades, playing around aoe, trying to get even a 1/1 to stick on board because when you let the game drag on for too long, rune just shifts multiple times and shits out a bigger board, forest just kills you from hand, dragon either has already killed you or just outvalues you, haven is forever out of lethal range, and abyss just wins between aragavy, medusa, and cerb
A lot of sub100 IQ players here will say sword is the braindead class but to stay in sapphire and above as sword is the most difficult feat in the game

ochris is fucking broken as shit. super evoing kuon there would be retarded and the 4/2 is literally bait to still make kuon feel good to play but still being easily removable without the super evolve happening. if they do super evolve then congrats, if they have to super evolve to clear orchis then you don't have to worry about the dshift+satan ohko or 10 damage from hand from kuon in the future.

I was able to build this on an alt. I tried the 6x ding dong but felt like early game was them building a huge board that ding dong can't contain and the 3 drops are terrible. Cyclone turning the taunts into bane from mukan gives a little value
