I need frags on main more for m3/m4 since my m1 was a nothingburger. Anyway I've calculated that if I use the time spent on cuckworld, according to how my hyper is doing rn, I would be missing out on 7-14 hours of frag farming on my main weekly, which would be about 4.5k-5.6k frags over 10 weeks that I'm missing on cuckworld. Meanwhile I would only be getting 1.2k frags from 10 weeks of double dipping grass dailies and high mountain plus bossing is about 5-8 hrs weekly, capping broomy would put me at 14-16 hrs extra weekly that I could instead farm frags on my main for.

I will not grind frags and I will get the butterfly costume

Thoretically with proper knowledge/skill, easy will should be doable if you can clear elucid right? It feels a lot harder to me, but I don't know the fight like I do lucid, just want to make sure I'm not wasting my effort if there's a step up I need in terms of damage or something.

how do you figure 7-14 hours a week, cw is ~15 mins for 3000 kills, ~12m for mpe, ~5mins for arcane river, HM is 30m and bossing is like 1-2 hours a week depending on what you do. simple numbers, thats like 5 hours a week/125 frags a week? and you drop frags while doing the 300 kill daily on CW, which is the bulk of your time on CW if you are minmaxing it like that. P3 is very simple on paper. A couple of basic melee attacks that knock you back, followed by a bigger attack that can kill you. Rinse and repeat. Occasionally he might poison someone but that's not an issue when soloing. The basic attacks are easily dodged just by moving behind him, away from him or jumping up. The big attacks come in two variants that either hit right where you are or everywhere around you, meaning you have to either dodge it or stay still depending on which one is coming. You can tell them apart from the way the giant spider that appears just before the attack looks. Check pics and pay attention to its eye color, body position and the goop around the front leg. 14 hr per week for 10 weeks = 420x10 up to 550x10 so 4.2k-5.5k frags you can farm on main instead

I dont play MS but I've been watching vids of it recently. Something that comes up but I don't understand is "2 minute" and "3 minute" classes or burst. What exactly is this? I'm guessing classes have some giga-nuke ability which contributes to their DPS and that's what they revolve around to measure?

it's sort of important to take into account when you're grouped with others so that your cooldowns align with theirs since some classes have abilities to buff your damage, or if you're trying to push a phase
not that it matters since they're making everyone 2 minutes and it really didn't matter much in the grand scheme without said change anyway, especially if you're solo
as said, dpm is more important and it's never really worth holding up your CDs to align with someone else's

since the game is so burst focused, but also some classes' bursts last for quite a while (20-40 seconds), maplestory players use "dpm" to refer to the dps when not bursting since that usually lasts over a minute. it also refers to averaged out dps over a long period.

I'm doing challenger world with 2 friends. We've got 3 more that recently joined, of which one has the potential to catch up with us proper. It's cozy bossing with friends. Sharing screens so we can split up in phase 1 Lucid to see when the dragon lands and we can jump + blink hover to dodge it accurately 9/10 times.
We almost had Hard Lucid, but failed the dps check phase by a sliver. This is the week we're going to start getting arcane drops for sure!

Works for me & my buds. We can't be focussing golems, lest we won't clear in time. We've got plenty of skills among ourselves to clear out golems with collateral. Just on occasion when a whole battery of golems spawn right as the dragon spawns, does someone sometimes need to jump + blink. Never had much issue with the butterflies this way either.

Katzen just came out and it's solid, just hardly anyone playing it, there's Eluna too but I haven't played it in ages so idk if it's any easier than GMS.
For me the main reason to play pservers is that they still have trading and free cosmetics anyway. And that they have no fucking tutorials/prequests/cutscenes so you don't have to sit through 100 hours of unskippable bs and setup.

Wild totem (f2p on this pserver) is only a 40% boost to spawn rate, Frenzy totem is 100% boost. It seems they changed all frenzy totems into wild totems within two fucking days of release, creating the same f2p vs paycuck mentality that people from reg GMS want to get away from.

It might be fine for casuals but I personally can't live with someone getting better rates just for paying up. 20% is just the difference in one hour, the next hour the difference is 40%, after 5 hours of playtime someone payed is getting 100% or .5 (double) of what you get, give or take some RNG variance and it can be anywhere from 100-150-200% more like let's say someone gets really lucky and gets 80 frags per hour instead of the usual 60 or 70, then gets lucky next hour again and again keeps hitting higher than avg. That person is already going to have a maxed hexa stat and unlocked 5th nodes while you just got your m1 and m2 at lvl 1 with the free totem.
This is why these servers die in a month, people will give it a shot blindly, then do the actual math after wasting their time on it already and of course be angry and blow up the forums and mass quit. Now the free vac pet and nx shit is worthless because someone crashing out caused a ripple effect and the server is down from 2000 players to 500. What do you do now? Keep coping and stay in a dead pay2win server or wait for a new one? It's an endless cycle because the next one will have payed 20% higher frags instead of totem scam like here. I am a returning player who prior to returning never got above level 200, since it was still kind of an achievement back then. So I am still adjusting to whatever the fuck this game has become. Since hitting 260 I am just chillin'. Progression does feel weird now cause all the drops that are supposed to give me gains are apparently tied to drops, or in the case of Gollux apparently I gotta farm for a long ass time to afford these pieces I guess. No meso cubes is actually abhorrent. Now I see why everyone prefers Heroic servers.

Might just be my 2 cents but interactive CW is very unplayable unless you whale.(Not even for light spenders, just whales)

Level progression is very slow without COR, even if you pop 3x, there is 0 burning field on pretty much all maps, and we only get a few sauna hours in the entire event.

High mountain rewards are also very expensive if you choose to pay for the bonuses, whether it is sol erda or exp.
As for gear, the most realistic scenarios would be to get full gollux(doubt if we will even have the time to fully scroll it) and some filler gear (Likely sweetwater or dawn).

But having a meso market really made everything super expensive and so it will be hard to even buy things assuming you have the mesos, because most people will likely just keep their good gear instead of selling.
We just missed SSF with little gear to starforce, and probably wont have another one by the end of the CW so there's that.

Almost every modern GMS server has shit like that, Ellinia was a lot more p2w than that server.
Modern servers are harder to develop and balance so devs add p2w stuff in order to justify the investment required; otherwise, it'd be more efficient for someone with that much knowledge to bot on another server and RMT, like I did on Ellinia. I made 6 figures (before Bitcoin capital gains) from Ellinia, and "katzen" has significantly more reverse engineering/dev experience than I did at that time, so he'd be able to make even more.
On top of that, most modern players are more willing to spend money and are more likely to tolerate p2w, especially because so many of them played the various Ellinia servers, so the rational move for the dev is to add p2w shit.

What's the point in CW for interactive players anyway?

For heroic players you get an extra 3k daily for the frags, which are the bottleneck in heroic.
In interactive you can just buy frags/transfer from other characters so this is useless. Surely just making your hyper burn in your main world and directly giving it premade gear etc would be better? Not to mention you have fz service for dailies/if you want to grind as needed.
I don't think the CW specific rewards seem to outweigh being able to do this.

It's mostly just bosses which should be entirely a hands thing at this point, and leveling which is just sauna up to 270 (275 if you really wanna whale) then epics past that.
If you're around 270, it's entirely viable to hit 280 still right now which helps with having to do chaos on some of the tene bosses.

You are guaranteed to get at least a 3 set sup simply from the coin drops. Arcanes are a bit trickier but even then you really only need the weapon and gloves for the biggest gains.

I also checked just now and by my calculations I actually only need to kill 1 more boss after the check-ins and level 275. I tried nvhilla just now and I could get it down to 80% in like 7 minutes while playing pretty poorly. Even with just a 3 sup set and ~6k stat from symbols vhilla should be fairly easy.

Can anyone explain how lucid's p1 teleports work?
It seems like I just... randomly get fucking teleported on top of a golem then I instantly die. And the golems have so much health I have to dedicate seconds to killing them, and by the time she's down to 2 bar she's summoning 2-3 every like 5 seconds, so I just use my iframe and origin and try to finish her off. I can get her out in around 10 minutes to phase 2 in normal, so I'm doing okay I think for time/damage, but I usually die 5-7 times in phase 1. I can get through phase 2 with barely any deaths, but I still feel like I'm missing something, I just can't figure out what I should be doing to avoid that stuff cause it's just seemingly unavopidable.

well the double problem here is that nu maple is mostly just a direct almost logical response to the actual problems of old maple.
leeching is bad? everything should self sufficient farming alone, in fact farming alone should be the only way to farm, and there's so few late game maps that you can't have heal maps either. Just make it so we aren't even capable to sharing mobs anymore it's instanced that takes care of cc too.
bossing needed hyper body for light classes not to get instantly one shot? everything is % health. bosses aren't engaging? mechanics. we need everyone to be able to execute mechanics so you aren't bricked? everyone gets basic mobility stuff like universal flash jump/teleport and higher movespeed than base. stuff like that

Anytime even any small skill changes happen, the shit classes instantly become too OP like Paladin suddenly is better than both hero and dk combined. MM starts doing more damage than NL/Sair/BM. Buccs become insane and start hitting damage cap with dragon strike. Then it just ruins the feel of the game, especially in party - the buffed classes become super OP while the og meta classes are turned into "meh". In the end making changes to pre-bb it's just a shitty coin flip

And by that I mean may as well just stick to the original formula, because it's just original formula but flipped = is a flop. Having custom buffed classes progress faster than you just because someone thought it would be "fun" is not actually fun. Someone will be doing way less work and having an easier time on a custom buffed class than you. I have been grinding on avg like 2-6h a day depending on how busy I am and if I'm doing bossing. I have noticed w the influx of overseas players using VPN to play GMS, there have been influx of botters in the game literally reporting 1-5 players a day. I am one who keep getting public mvps or just go for short breaks every 30mins or hour therefore I cycle maps and channels frequently and notice the same ppl I have reported 2 weeks back grinding still. Is this how the game is going forward, I know reboot doesn't have market place therefore the mesos you gained isin't all that big of a deal but this shit is hurting players that actually farmed. Plus, botters could sell off accounts easily.

I've been pondering the idea of doing what Runescape has been doing: Make something resembling Ironman. I don't mean being unable to interact with other players, since heroic and the like already 99% that.
But running all servers alongside each other. On the regular channels, everyone can see everyone. Regular, heroic, classic. Classic players would need a few channels for themselves since training in a small party is a royal pain when you've got heroic and regular players oneshotting mobs.
