Warframe introduced hoverboards during their second open world update, like TFD is going to introduce bikes.
You could put mods in the K-Drive to make it go faster, you can buy K-Drives in the store for real money, and you can't affect them warframe abilities because then you could cheat in warframe races and you wouldn't be incentivised to buy the mods for real money. There were also mods that gave you bonuses when doing tricks, like kicking your board into enemies to knock them down on dismount of doing restoring energy after doing sick backflips.

You couldn't use the hoverboard in normal missions though, until they released Yareli whose kit revolved around it. Like every other frame she's unable to be affected by abilities, but her's is the only board that can't be modded because then you wouldn't have an incentive to buy hoverboards. She also didn't have any integration with the trick system with her kit. In fact, as of now I'm pretty sure she is literally the only frame with exalted (summonable) equipment that *can't* be modded.
They did introduce not one but two augments (basically transcendant mods) for her board, but none of them made her go fast, gave her trick integration, gave her bonuses on mount and dismount, anything actually K-Drive related. Instead, the first one just upped her defences and fire rate while shooting from the board and the second one took Yareli off the board entirely.

So TL;DR, Yareli's special summonable open-world vehicle specifically and K-drives in general were NEVER allowed to be good for like 5 years because Warframe's Dev's were greedy assholes, so I'm really happy that these bikes are getting a chance from the get go.

Extremely stupid, helldivers is a game that never needed as many nerfs as they kept pushing no one who was playing was thinking "man i wish my guns did less damage and my call ins were less fun and destructive to use." Helldivers is the prime example of a game being appealing because of the power fantasy and the pure chaos and the team didn't seem to understand that, or they were listening to a few players in places like discord or whatever that wanted it to be some hyper competitive pve game. I can't speak to how the current development is going because nda shit, but in the past they were retards to be brutally honest.

Too many developers get way too caught up in ego and what they think the game should be and how it should be played and don't realize that death of the author applies to games too, it doesn't matter what they think it, it matters what players see the game as and how they feel about it. Keelan's release was when we saw the lowest downturn in player numbers. Copers will say it was the dog that kept people not him, but at face value he has caused less decimation of the population than any of the titty monsters they've turned out.

But I'm pretty sure a lack of new male descendants isn't because people left the game over Keelan, it's because he didn't sell as many outfits and so didn't make Nexon as much money. And the devs'd probably not mind if we lost 90% of the playerbase as long as the remaining 10% are the biggest spenders.

The bigger killer of player numbers by far was when Hailey released and F2Pers saw the month plus grind wall to get her and pity wasn't anywhere in sight yet. If anything, Hailey being a hot white female that most people wanted only made that situation worse. Too bad the devs interpreted that as 'never release any game modes that aren't kill all the monsters ever again'.
