Jergal doesn't have a domain. He gave them away. It's kind of a big plot point of the whole trilogy.
The point is that resurrection in the FR is relatively easily accessible in many forms unless you are poor or the Gods have a hate boner against you, since resurrection is strictly(wish is an exception) in the domain of divine magic. Logic dictates that Kethric bought several scrolls and paid several clerics of various levels to perform the feat but it just didn't work. The only reasonable explanation is that the gods didn't want Isobel alive for some reason. Probably because they are cunts.They literally threw kethric on Myrkuls lap. Selune bares most of the responsibility because she was the one worshiped by kethrics family for generations and still went "Nah, it will be fine".

Yeah, I think, I'll have to load again. It feels like I took a wrong turn somewhere in my progression through Act 1. This feels like optional hidden boss (for this point in the game anyway), and I'm meant to be fighting some more goblins right about now. Most of my gear is white too. Am I supposed to be spending gold early on to get some enchanted gear from the vendors, however weak it is? Or is there a better use for gold later and I should be saving up?

Darkness oriented team I’ve been considering. Using the Laser Llama homebrew alternate monk mod (biggest relevant changes are being able to naturally see in magical darkness, and perform unarmed strike actions while wielding weapons) and the fade’s equipment mod (so the Khalid’s necklace is a stand in for a +2 wisdom necklace the mode adds to the loot tables). If I would change anything I would go 22 Dex and 18 wisdom instead of 20 /20 and swap out the initiative bow with the titanstring bow. On Shadowheart maybe swap the salving ring for the eversight ring so she can also see in the dark, and on Wyll swap the reverb boots for the boots of Misty step, then replace the Misty step warlock spell for something else.

There are legitimate aspects about companion characterization to criticize - no writing is perfect - but how quickly they can bond is not one of them. Claiming that this is not how strangers behave when "pressed into a life or death situation" is not only wrong but also clumsy. It seems to imply that storytelling should be about people in general, not individuals with distinct personalities who can voice their disapproval, learn to tentatively trust, find common ground, fall in love. The player can relate and grow attached to characters, not so-called "grounded" sociological cliches.

The excuse is that you're facing illithids so you need all the help you can get, but that's actually not true. There are things that are worse or just as bad, and a few examples off the top of my head would be sharrans and cryic worshipers. If I was in a life or death situation and I was recruiting allies, I would still skip sharrans, cryic worshipers, and a few others.

Then when she speaks positively of the shadow cruse, tries to murder party members and lie about it to you, goes on and on about how much she wants to murder Aylin and by extension LL inn, how her main goal in life is to become a Justiciar, there are so many red flags that scream "stop this person", but people ignore the sensible realistic thing to do since it's a game and if they don't like the outcome they can just reload, and we know she's a companion that probably has a redemption story so we do things that are nonsensical and in fact outright stupid for the sake of seeing the companion content in a videogame.

It's enough for most companions, which is what matters - the player character gets to roleplay whether such an ally can be trusted. Reminder that Gale can actually be persuaded to massacre the grove, so that's the extent of how "moral" he really is. The one nitpick I have is Karlach's reaction upon learning Shadowheart is a Sharran. She clearly doesn't like the idea of having to ally with a "monster," but is later just fine with the increasingly disturbing evil decisions that align with Sharran doctrine. It's like she was written to be Chaotic Good but also besties with Shadowheart, and that's inconsistent.

I would personally enjoy it more if the dead three weren't the main antagonists but the lesser evil and the main antagonist were the illithids. A large scale illithid invasion of Faerun would be kino were the gods, all of them, shit their pants in the prospect of loosing all of their followers but they can't actually react because of Ao with the exception of the Dead Three that seem to do as they please and end up being the first line of defense.

I find myself acting like a murderhobo more and more in this game and the fact that by Act 3 no one can stop you is just the icing on the shitty cake. No, actually no one can ever stop you. By level 3 you can level the grove pretty easily. You and your party are the most powerful entity around bar some bosses. I have GMed enough ttrpgs to recognize that this(the murderhoboing) comes from not taking the world seriously anymore or more accurately loosing all sense of immersion. I specifically mentioned Act 3 because there is were all immersion is gone. The average Flaming Fist is level 10 and there are (probably)thousands of them. They could take everything kethric threw at them without breaking a sweat, no steel watch needed. The goblins could never pillage Waukeen's Rest. Ulder Ravengard is a lvl 11 battlemaster. He could never be captured in Act 1. You should arrive at the goblin encampment to see it destroyed with him chilling with some dwarf meat and ale. These are just the tip of the iceberg. Larians divinity series was cartoonish and not meant to be taken seriously but this one actually attempts to do drama and perosnal relationships and demands to be taken seriously. It's a real same because the gameplay is actually pretty good. Probably the best iteration of 5e. As a string of semi random encounters the game works beautifully. You add their story and background to the mix and it immediately starts to fall apart. It's a same really.

The thing is that it could be pretty easily solved by them attacking you to try and retrieve the artifact. Guaranteed death by leaving vs small chance to succeed and live. Like Shadowheart should definitely attack you if you don't bring her to Shar's tomb. I can buy that she feels like death is better to live knowing her destiny was denied, but to give up without a fight? To leave the person who denied her destiny with an artifact her goddess wants? That's just stupid, she should try to kill you.

This is ofc not really a problem as only the most retarded player would ever want to lose a companion. The solution to the problem is extremely simple though and weird that they didn't implement.

They are durable, have some minor utility with spellcasting, can buff nearby allies with their aura, deal massive burst damage, and last but not least, are a CHA class so they also shine outside of combat. They don't really have weaknesses outside of a lack of ranged options - and even that can be remedied with a Warlock dip.

Act 3 is by far my favorite act, and I will never understand the negative consensus around it. It's so content-dense and open-ended, and really makes you feel like a small-towner in a big city. The city itself is so beautifully realized, with incredible locations and verticality.
