I am about to start rolling using Random Plus and then saving them in editor. I'm curious if there are some guidelines and total skill points (i imagine its total XP) based on age.

It's free money, plus it lowers their chances of breaking out, you can also lowr the chances to 0 by just removing their legs.

there's a lot of things you can do
keeping prisoners happy and/or in separate prisons reduces the chance of them trying to break out. keeping prisoners under anesthesia or under drugs like smokeweed or alcohol will make them pushovers to down and also technically make them happy. and if they do break out making it so that the prison leads to a hallway which then leads to your base can delay their escape and give you more time to get there, and using a weaponless pawn to beat them will drastically lower the chance of them dying once downed. psycasts like berserk can also help so they down each other

the gene/leg removal anon mentioned can also work with some caveats, just keep in mind that you can do quite a lot of things with out of the box thinking, for example you can pop a joywire in the stellarch to keep him happy and the empire won't complain

How much, if at all, do you edit your pawns before starting a colony?

I send all my kids to drive / man the tanks since the shooting skill does not seem to affect tank guns, or maybe my kids are just that good.
Except that one time the kids shot a HEAT shell straight into my melee faction leader and he stood there stunned for 6 seconds (which felt like hours) as he continued getting pounded by mechs.
Remember to manually shoot the main gun, and dont mark it for autofire

Human850 is 3.5++ compatible with Human871. Bonus - they will sleep facing each other, because Human850 is facing east, and 871 is facing west.
Enjoy.

You can spawn a bunch of pawns yourself and choose the most compatible, or change the IDs one by one and see what happens.
Also, don't forget to use Notepad++ and replace Human(number), not Thing_Human(number) and not just (number), because in one place the pawn is mentioned without "Thing_", and replacing only the number can break many variables in the save.

It is possible that the game has already assigned ID 850 or 871 to some item (not necessarily a pawn), then you need to find this item by number, for example, it can be Apparel_Pants850 and replace 850 at the end with the number from the ID of the pawn that was initially generated.
It can be any object or even dirt(!), since it also has an ID.

If you're interested, pawn ID modulo 4 determines facing. 0 and 1 mean facing front, 2 is right, 3 is left.
Just throw the ID into any calculator that can calculate modulo. For example, 850 mod 4 = 2, 871 mod 4 = 3, which means that pawns with these IDs will sleep facing each other.

I also tried full tribe compatibility. Not perfect, but 1++ positive. Try ID 850, 860, 871, 872 and 939. Right, front, left, front, left.

As pawns they're far superior to baseliners with very little demerits and their equipment are better than vanilla gear, but it isn't close to actual broken mods on the workshop. I'd say Revia raids are way more annoying than their raids. Amorphous threat is an interesting boss and isn't that intrusive aside from adding a few map objects.

I've only been on the receiving end of them so I can't speak on what they're like to play but as raiders they feel pretty balanced early game, but late game with their heavy armour, walking slug turrets and magazine fed rocket launchers, they're pretty fucking brutal (which is a breath of fresh air honestly).

I am at 2 million wealth and in desperate need of downsizing, but without reducing my pawn count.
I do have around 30 prisoners and 20 colonists/slaves. TPS hangs around 150-300 at 4x.
I wanted to add dubs hygiene too next colony but I cant imagine how much worse the TPS will get when I reach this point again.

Too many items on map from raids, not enough haulers to burn/smelt them all, not sure if it affects TPS

Holy shit 1.6 starts up so fast. Was super easy to test my mods since I'm so paranoid before uploading the update. I doubt we will it but I really hope Odyssey adds Gravship raids too. Imagine pirates landing their Gravship on the outskirts of your tile and using it like a staging ground. The Gravship itself could have a bunch of variations like having turrets set up on the exterior, mortars for harassment or a shield generator.
Or they could land it as close to your base as possible like an ascended drop pod raid.
It could be designed as an extra hard raid with the reward being Gravship parts to make it worth it.
