At offset 0x40C0 in Revision 0 of Sonic 1 (In Revision 1, it'd be offset 0x40C2, and in the prototype we currently have, offset 0x311C), there's a set of demo input data that appears to be unreferenced in the code.

The demo inputs seem to consist of a series of walking to the right and stopping periodically, with a single jump partway through, and then it ends with Sonic running at full speed to the right.

If this data is unused, what's interesting about this is that it seems to line up with what is known about the Tokyo Toy Show demo.
Most of the screenshots of the demo feature Sonic walking (moving at a slower speed than would trigger the running animation), with Sonic only seen running in the screenshots near the presumed end of the demo.

This data also made its way into Sonic 2 and the 1103 prototype of Sonic 3.

Tokyo Toy Show demo's parallax scrolling data is leftover in the final, and one of Sonic's unused victory jump animations remains all the way to Sonic & Knuckles. So, there's a precedent for early Sonic 1 development data being left in the code. Sonic Retro has come to an agreement that this demo input data is highly likely a TTS leftover.

This isn't some schizophrenic assumption or reading too much into Ian. He literally had Sally wait twenty-five years for Sonic to return to her while remaining chaste. Anyone who read the previous issues or watched satam could tell you that's a massive leap in her character.
He doesn't care that that's fairy tale levels of loyalty. He doesn't like Sonic and Amy as a pairing.
Even in the last few issues of Archie, which did have Sonamy ship bait, he made sure to write in that Sonic fins Amy a little "creepy".
I have to give Ian his dues. I am not some schizo hater. He after all created Rosey to represent the Amy that Amy's haters think she is. He doesn't HATE Amy. But he does see her as a thorn in his OTP.
He has had to tell Sonallyfags multiple times on bumblekast that even if Sally was back and even if romance was on the table, SEGA doesn't like the ship. But he always makes sure to add the caveat that *he* liked the ship.
Sonamy though? He has never said a positive thing about Sonamy. He doesn't like the pairing.

What changes would you make to SA2 if it was remade?

I'd remove all of knuckles story. It distracts from the main plot and he shouldn't be hanging out with his friends anyways. I'd also probably rewrite that cringey scene where amy breaks sonic out of prison. Amy is sweet and bubbly but she knows how to get serious. Instead of teasing sonic and giving cringey dialogue about how she want to marry him, she should just unlock the door.

I'd also probably throw in a few references at certain places in the story ti older titles just so it feels more cohesive. Like, when sonic sees the guard types, he should say something like "Weird, those looks just like Chaos!". It's also be cool to have a brief reference to Silver in the game, like a kind of foreshadowing.
