If you're enjoying the main game, you will almost definitely enjoy the DLC as well. The map is beautiful and makes a great addition to the base game, some areas are more polished than others but other than that there's plenty to do. You can expect your playtime of the DLC to be about half that of the base game, at least that's how it was in my experience.

The bosses are amazing, they are definitely tougher than those of the base game (generally) but there's some absolute bangers there that you wouldn't want to miss if you're enjoying the main game. The final boss of the DLC is (IMO) a much better send-off to the entire game than the base game's final boss.

You can still start the DLC if you've finished the main game, so there's no harm in waiting until beating the final boss to decide. But if you find yourself wanting more Elden Ring content to play, then the DLC is a no-brainer!
