Did my Purple Gnoster. Very easy. Played as Ironeye. Got a reward from Gaol early that was FP. Took that and for the entire run almost I got nothing but sorcery rewards. Had to pick up random white bows off the ground to start getting more bow rewards.

I got 1 barred then he rezzed me just before a big aoe attack and i immediately went down again before i could flask because "lol u know attack timing of aoe?" final boss got down to like 5% then ironeye went down too.

First try, easy game, only took one sippy the whole time which sucks because usually anyone with a brain can no-hit Gnoster. Feels like phase 3 is even easier this time, just takes longer is all. Learn where all the seal boxes are at in cathedrals.
Stack FP in every way possible on relics.
For class specific relics, Strengthens family and allies, and powered up when family is out are both decent for solo. Ghostflame explosion is -alright-, and the heals allies one but costs your health is a complete negative for solo.
Unlock towers if they're somewhat close for the 3 crates of starlight shards on the base floor.
Buy a small pouch and starlight shards at a merchant at some point. One of the three at the castle are easy to reach.
Buy more again at the end before nightlord if you have less than 4.

To add to what this anon said, Eclipse Crest Greatshield is the only shield good vs Magic.
You can increase your Magic defense with Scholar's Shield or Shield Grease but other than that just sprint away

Smelter is probably the hardest night 1 boss. He has a shitton of health and defense and increases the range of his fire aura as time goes on, so he'll be actively damaging you even when you're far away from him. Base pest's moves are all easy in a vacuum, people just slip up because of the attrition factor of dodging stomp aoes, poison, and magic rain. Plus driveby charge moves will mess up the average player and it does a lot of damage if you get caught by it. I don't really see anything everdark pests do that is easier than the usual ones, I think you are just finding out that the bugs are that simple. They don't do the driveby, and the white beam pillar might be more threatening than the red ones maybe. Everything else is just more demanding than what they had before at the very minimum. I already thought that splitting them up in phase 1 was more dangerous than stacking them.

revenant has some of the highest damage potential in this fight though
all of the flame incants except the very most basic ones have very high potential as the scorp is fat and slow
you also have some of the best damage against the moth while he's flying
