The first bug that goes down will cause Animus to possess their corpse to go into their fused mode. Damaging the fused bug will also harm Animus, who normally has a fuckload of defense. Over time Animus will eventually bail from its host bug and leave it to its own devices, unless the other bug also dies. Then Animus will hop to that corpse to repeat the process. For as gimmicky as the fight looks it's actually pretty straightforward. The 3rd bug takes a chunk of damage whenever it revives one of the normal pests. Can sneak in some damage while it's reviving, and the revived pest goes kaioken mode until you kill it again. Most people seem to just target the scorpo over and over since it's the grounded one

What a piece of shit fucking boss. How did they manage to make it worse? You're going to plough through the 1st phase, thinking you somehow skipped the 2nd phase, but the 2nd phase only starts after the you kill them the first time. Then a 3rd bug starts showing itself, reviving both of them and now it's the 1st phase except you sometimes get some attacks from the red moth. When one of them dies, the red moth (animus) revives it and that bugs gains special attacks, powering it up until you kill it again or if it does its ultimate (which it will only do after you kill the other bug), leaving it vulnerable for a time. There's also an attack that's the 2nd phase light beams except they're red and everywhere and at the end there's a BIG light beam that extends its hitbox. What the fuck were they thinking? Thankfully I had the braid as a drop because I don't know how I would've done otherwise.

I let myself get killed a few times when using summons because after reaching the second phase of maliketh in less than a minute I thought to myself this wasn't how I wanted it to go.
But now that I'm fighting alone, I take the brunt of his attacks, of course, and have no time to use any of my high damage incantations (pick any one, it doesn't matter). I could only punish him if I can predict in advance what move he's going to use, and I unfortunately don't see into the future.
So every time I cast something, I'm rolling the dice on whether I get punished or he mercifully chooses the one move that doesn't knock me out of my cast animation, albeit still damages me.
