I just soloed Fume Knight in DS2. Holy shit that was hard.
I keep seeing advice to not use a shield at all in this fight which I found to be total fucking bullshit. Havel shield saved my ass a lot. But I still needed to git gud with timing my rolls.

I ended up going naked + Veldstat helm + Havel shield. rolling towards his attacks was vital but back rolls were key too in avoiding his über sword range.

Is Yharnam Queen supposed to be an easy boss in Bloodborne?

I don't even mean in a "haha i'm so good aren't I" kind of way, I mean she did nothing to me and just let me get free hits in most of the time. I was barely paying attention during the fight and didn't even have to learn any of her attacks.
The echoes seem disproportionate as well. I think I got like 100k beating her, but I got that from just running through one of the layers against standard opponents

Oh and in Bloodborne, what's the quickest way to get to the endgame?

and yeah getting to this fight was annoying and i got fed up of the game. Defiled was the wors. The Chalice before this I did find annoying but moreso because I was approaching one of the fights wrong. Once I changed weapon it got so much easier but I wasted so much time before.

greetings. how fun is doing a magic/int build in dark souls remastered? i've beaten dark souls 3 and elden ring with the basic strength greatsword build and it seems the most polished experience for these games, but i want to try something different. i know of moonlight greatsword, but are there some other ways to get a melee weapon that scales off int early on? i basically want a guy which can fire projectiles but also with the option of melee that does damage, with like a rapier or something gay like this. is this doable?

Is Bloodborne the easiest FS game? I’ve previously only beaten the Demon's Souls remake and found it to be somewhat challenging. I’ve had Bloodborne in my library for years but never got around to playing it and figured I’d give it a try tonight and so far it’s been pretty easy although I’m still in what I assume is the tutorial area. Man I will never get people who seethe endlessly over Dark Souls 3. I love it as a sequel. Everything's been prolonged too long, everything's fucked and stagnant, history itself is folding in on itself it's so great.

It's like the inverse of the "I KNOW WHAT THAT IS" thing with Star Wars, people see something they recognize from Dark Souls 1 and instantly freak out even if the reason they're showing you the same shit again is fun. I'm playing Dark Souls for the first time. I'm at Sen's Fortress. I managed my way from Andre to a guy (Ricardo?) who dropped a rapier or something without coming across a bonfire. Did I miss it? I saw a fog gate with a huge boss behind it and a giant who threw fire on me from on top of a tower. Fighting either guy felt hopeless as I was out of Estus so I just used a bone to get back.

The thing that got closest to the feeling in recent years is Fear and Hunger, but it's a janky turn based game made by 1 dude who doesn't know how to code. You go into an evil rape dungeon where everything kills you and eventually you get involved in a conspiracy between gods and false gods. You have to play it multiple times to understand what's happening, but it's fun because you can rush for powerful items and shitstomp enemies who ruined your early runs. It also has weird off-beat humor.

I want to play Dark Souls 2 again. Recently I heard that the optimal way to build a character is to only invest as much Str/Dex/Int/Fth it takes to use your weapon/spells of choice and to dump the remaining stats into something else. Is that really true? One of the weapons I was considering was the Drakeblood Greatsword, and it seems odd to follow that advice when it would leave me with more Str than Dex on an E/S weapon.

The boss design in elden ring makes the i-frame dodge roll gameplay loop break down. When you're dodge rolling 4, 5, 6+ times in a row it feels like you're simultaneously forced to play patient but against spazzy enemies. Sekiro and AC6 did it way better.
It works for DS1/2 and most of 3 because the bosses had simpler attack patterns and sekiro hadn't set precedent

most difficult choice in this game is choosing between unplayable graphics and unplayable framerate.

In most dark souls games the best thing to do is use a weapon with good base damage or scaling that doesn't rely on stats while you pump your health/endurance up (and in dark souls 2, get ADP up so you have more roll i-frames)
DS2 this is even more true because of how ADP effects i-frames, which are even more necessary since DS2 has the worst hitboxes in the series
