It is fictional, I don't have to do it because I ENJOY it, but because I need to find out what happens. I truly think, despite Toby's own thoughts, you need to experience everything within a video game at least once to properly judge it. In a game with alternate routes you need to experience every route to properly be able to judge it. Toby may disagree, but he as an author spent time writing and programming this route, it is a form of art, and thus as a player I think it is in our best interest to experience it no matter what happens.
I genuinely think the only thing that would make me give up on the weird route is if it genuinely became unfun, too over the top and just a bore to play through, and even then I'd look up someone else do it. Like, if it deleted your save file each time you lost to a boss and you had to replay it levels of boring.

I love Deltarune but yeah the big problem with Susie is Toby keeps doing a "tell don't show" with her. We could use more scenes of eavesdropping on people talking about Susie like she's a problem, or actual scenes of people insulting her. But 90% of what we've seen of Susie being treated badly is her telling us stories of how she never felt included or how someone was mean to her, we never actually SEE it. We always just have to take her word for it, and it happens in Chapter 3 and two times in Chapter 4
