It must be hard to be a game designer. Adel was lightning in a bottle with that eye of the tornado gimmick. Animus and Fulghor don't have any sort of precedence for that, as much fun as I had with them. Animus is slightly more enjoyable than Fulghor because the party needing to split between 2-3 targets is indeed very fun without coordination over VOIP.

Executor can use twinblades, daggers, thrusting swords, heavy thrusting swords, whips, spears, and obviously katanas all better than Wylder. Ironeye does this to some extent as well.
Raider can use greathammers greataxes colossal weapons, colossal swords, axes all better than Wylder too.
People are just stuck with what the game tells them is preferred weapon, it's not really a game problem.
Otherwise yeah they need to actually make events and stuff randomized, the fact they're tied up to boss maps is sort of... cheesy. You start to feel the lack of randomization on everdark bosses since you're doing the same boss again and again

not because of the summons (they're mediocre at best)
but because she can use basically any weapon in the game without it being explicitly bad on her. yeah, she's not gonna deal the best damage, and this only really works if the weapon is sacred or has inherent faith scaling, but she CAN use them.
that plus incantations being wildly varied and having tons of niche really useful options makes her my favorite.
i do wish that the two finger seals didn't have rejection, though. that alone can lock you out of doing any casting for the entirety of day 1 if you're unlucky.

Executor has more of a problem than the rest because if you aren't using weapons with effects that scale with arcane you're dragging the team down. I think katanas are really boring and I jump for joy every time I got a bloody helice or some sort of weapon that happened to have bleed attached. There's also the fact that Suncatcher doesn't scale as well damagewise as regular weapons, it has no bleed, etc. He's still my favorite and I'm holding out that they modify him a bit for the inevitable dlc.

It's a colossal greatsword so it's very good by default. It's the third longest one (2nd longest in the base game) and has a poke R2. It's one of my favorites, though I think it's surpassed by a DLC weapon that has the same moveset but it's fire themed. Can't go wrong with it. Also it's found early on southern most merchant on the map

The objective solved "route" is to just make your way to the castle/lake depending on the pathing and spawn. Hitting any field bosses, gaols, and PoI's in your way. Castle can be comfortably started at level 5-6, especially if BBH isn't in the basement thats an auto extra level or two.
Day 2 rest of castle and either fields/gaol clean-up or shifting earth.
It's just so many runes and loot drops you can't possibly fuck up like that. The rest is up to your teammates to know the nightlord attack patterns unless you get so fucking lucky you can blender the 'lord without any thought

Executor's gameplan always feels completely aimless to me unless I get the meme status katana.
Since he lacks the multipliers that Duchess and Ironeye have in their skills, despite having a ton of DEX scaling he still feels weak in comparison without status that make use of his S in ARC to close the gap.
The fact that it's pretty much impossible to get a weapon with 3+ status normally makes it irreplaceable.

It's so weird to have a dedicated status dude, in a game where every single status scales with Arcane, and give him a kit where both the skill and ultimate apply no status whatsoever.

That's wrong though.
Status scaling works differently in Nightreign, and Executor is the only character that gets an abnormally high amount of ARC to benefit from it.
It's not a cope as much as it's by far the most effective way to play him.
The parry katana gives no rewards other than a little bit of stagger, and the eventual crits will only do a fraction of the damage the Executor could get from mashing R1 with status weapons.

The Sekiro stuff is by far the weakest part of his kit, you could literally remove his skill button and it wouldn't impact Executor's performance.

There's also 2 scarabs running around in the ravine up toward the back where executor's quests take him. His quest taking you over there more than once means they wanted you to explore over there.

In a good rng run you can get both your talismans and a smithing stone or stone key as soon as you start. There's tons of places for that but it has all of it right in a small area.

the standard practice with randoms is full clear (or as much as time allows) woods/crater on day 2 in my experience, the only time anyone ever just legs it to the end is if something has gone extremely wrong or someone has insisted on a marathon to get a church/gaol or multiple of them before heading there.
