I think it's Kris.
It makes sense why Ralsei wouldn't want to mention it, why Susie is so bent out of shape over it, and why she'd be upset at Ralsei for not telling her.
If it was her own death, she'd be eager to meet the challenge and overcome it. If it was someone else she didn't care as much about, it wouldn't be seen as a betrayal as much as it did.

people seem convinced that dess is the knight and that she's sort of trapped in its body going off of the theory that the unused dialogue is from her, but one thing that doesn't quite add up to me about that if we assume that really is her, is that susie said she saw the knight as a lightner carrying undyne to the shelter. you would assume that implies that the person has more intent behind their actions than they would if they were just an unknowing girl trapped in some sort of zombie running on airplane mode. is susie just not a very reliable narrator here? can the knight just assume the form of a regular lightner? or is the lightner actually dess, and the unused dialogue wasn't her? man looking back at all this dess knight fan content will be funny as hell if it turns out it's not her

Well given that it's a prophecy, there might be some expectation of accepting one's own fate.
Also take into account that Susie isn't telling Kris what she saw.
This could be a way of trying to gas him up so he'll be determined to fight against fate and create a better future.

The slashed angel head actually looks not unlike the crossed out figure in the GALLERY prophecy. So what do you guys think about the cut content in chapter 3? Because while I was playing the game I was thinking "this is starting to drag a bit" when Tenna started with the bonus round shit, and I was relieved when the plot ended up going in a different direction, so I think pacing-wise it was absolutely the right call.

But now that I'm finished with everything and I want more, finding out that there was content they almost completed but then ended up cutting makes me feel sad that I could have had more and missed out. Especially since they spent dev time on it only to not use it, I hate for it to go to waste. My hope is that they find a way to implement it as optional content in a future chapter, that way it doesn't mess with the pacing of the main story but anyone who's interested can still do it. Like sticking it as a secret in Castle Town somewhere.

I've been betting that it has to be Susie. Her laughing off the prophecy is my smoking gun for the theory.

Laying out the candidates:
First of all, it has to be someone she has a personal connection to. Kris, Ralsei, Susie herself, Noelle, Toriel, mayyybe Undyne. Otherwise she treats it with the same gravitas as the general "save the world from darkness" mission statement.
Second, I think Toriel and Undyne are unlikely, just because they're not important enough [in Deltarune] to justify the prophecy.
Third: I think if it were Noelle slated to die, Susie gets genuinely scared for the prophecy, instead of disbelieving it. She's perceptive enough to recognize how fragile Noelle is, and even if she's confident she can stop the prophecy, learning it's her probably spooks her.
Finally, I don't think it's Kris or Ralsei, because I don't think she starts laughing in either case. I think she definitely disregards the authenticity of the prophecy no matter what, but if it were Kris or Ralsei, I think she puts a concerted effort into convincing them rather than just dismissing it.

No, the fact that she laughs it off is what most of all convinces me she herself the target of the prophecy, because she's keenly aware of the dramatic irony of her situation: she started out in Chapter 1 cynical and dismissive of anything worthwhile in the Dark Worlds, but she made friends with Kris and Ralsei and slowly grew to love the adventures. In Chapter 4, she's straight up huffing Hopium over the knowledge she's some important hero. And she reveals her sad backstory about always being told she doesn't belong or is worthless.

So learning that in the end, she's going to die to satisfy the prophecy? That her reward for choosing to care—choosing to hope—choosing to dream—is to learn just how disposable she really was all this time?

I think she laughs. I think she subconsciously (definitely not consciously) says "Of *course* it's me. How could it not be??"

The Prophecy says that both the Light World and Dark World will be saved. It's not about getting rid of one or the other.
Also, if it was as simple as "you can't see Ralsei anymore" Susie would definitely be upset but I don't know if she'd react THAT strongly, it really fucks her up and she immediately does a 180 on The Prophecy from seeing it as something to aspire to to "fuck this this is bullshit." And Ralsei is DESPERATE for her not to see it, he's as terrified of her finding out as he is when The Titan is about to be summoned.

The Knight is a Lightner operating in the Light World, we've known that since Chapter 2
Dess is The Knight, she's obviously fucked up in some way but whatever she is now is still fundamentally Dess. Her interactions with Kris and the way she acts in Chapter 4 are enough evidence that she's not some mindless zombie, she knows what she's doing.
Dess is also the UNUSED voice in the code. This doesn't really imply anything about Dess's current state because there's no reason to assume this dialogue is happening in that Chapter, it could easily just be narration or memories from when she was lost in the past.

I think they're guardians of the depths, and that an actual titan is any lightner that manages to dive inside of one and keep going till they reach the depths, which coats them in the darkest dark darkness and turns them into a roaring knight, granting them the power of a guardian

Tenna knows this about Kris, so he modified Zelda to remove violence so as not to corrupt Kris. However, Ramb, on the contrary, allows you to play the original Zelda. He says that this is the only way Kris will feel free. The only thing the original Zelda offers is the ability to kill enemies. In other words, being prone to violence means being free. Spamton says that Kris should also be more violent. Even the shadow mantle inclines Kris toward violence. Because something is holding Kris back from this path, either himself or the player.

This is about how Chara and Chris are the same character. Aside of other similiar traits, they have this seed of violence that the player can nurture.

I didn't get the "pacifist" ending where the army of people overthrow the king.
I think the only thing that could have caused that is Susie attacking a couple Jigsawrys near the start.
Does that actually make a difference? Should I have been more worried about Susie's murderhoboing?
(of course, I'm not really worried. I don't think it matters, but I still wanted to do things fully pacifist and see the little differences.)
