Yeah its been really fucking noticeable since 2.0 that everyone just absolutely sucks the dick of this games devs and just isn't serious about getting accurate information and sober analysis out there about the game and character kits and tiers and stuff. Everything just sort of follows the "it keeps getting better and better every patch" hypebeast narrative in 2025.

I cant take any of these fuckers seriously and have just kind of been trusting my instincts, common sense and own tastes with pulling strategies or talking to people in places that dont have their head up their asses about the game and aren't doing the whole sticking it to Hoyo at every opportunity thing so are able to just give their honest thoughts about things. People keep saying it's Hoyoverse games where you're not allowed to give any criticism or have anything less than a 10/10 best thing ever take, but IMO its this game more than any other.

You also get stupid shit from people with this game like "Oh so you want power creep in this game?" where its like no I don't want a characters peak performance to be so heavily tied to a character I dont really want to get when I'm already not gvien much of an incentive to pull for her from the story. Its apparently okay in this game to have her tied so heavily to Brant who they put on the same banner here, but something like Genshin doing it with Skirk and Slut Chef on banners with a whole gap inbetween to save up again is apparently greedy. Its so fucking dumb.

Lupa situation shows us Kuro will go out of its way to gimp characters when they are not played in their BiS teams.

Zani Frazzle application, Carte Erosion application (+HP scaling to fuck over SK) and now Lupa requiring 2 Fusion teammates (when there is only one Fusion healer in the game).

They can't lower the currency income, or release more than 2 characters per patch. Weapons are also guaranteed. So the only way for them to milk players is to "encourage" them to get characters they don't want with a risk of losing 50/50 and spending more.

Carlotta is rebuilding her family and doing her own investigations while sending you pertinent info. Just before entering Septimont, you call the one character who's related to Carthy and ask her for information.

So on and so forth. There's very rarely a point in the story where you're like "why isn't x character here?" because all the characters that need to be there or should be there, ARE there. Or if they aren't there, they show concern like Carlotta does before you do Cantarella's story.

Yeah I'd agree that we should see characters do more inter-personal dialogue. You kinda got a glimpse of it during the anni cube event but they do it quite well. The way all the characters dance at the end of the anni event, they definitely pay attention to how a character "should" act, not just how they speak. Which if you listened to the cube dialogue, was pretty good too.

Minor stuff like Lupa interacting with Abby should be more frequent and its fun to see.

In terms of handholding it's 2.0 > 2.4 > 2.2.

2.2 was comparatively simple as a story though, altho some people still miss the connection Cantarella had with Carthy. 2.0 summarizes the plot in the middle of the story several times. 2.4 was an in-between but wasn't so easy as to tell you what's happening outright, although it was pretty damn clear imo. But people still had a problem lol.

I don't mind Brant, I think he's pretty cool. In fact, I think that about all the guy characters except Lionboy. The problem is that I enjoy rolling for the girl characters, and if I roll for a guy character, then that just means I won't be able to roll for the girl. If we got enough pulls in the game to pull every character, then I would absolutely pull the guys, but as it is we have to pick and choose who we pull, and they're just a lower priority.
