You always have to take a support servant from another player, except in a few rare event / story fights. In general farming content you take a support. So this means you can take a friend's Castoria + your own Castoria. Castoria is hands down the strongest arts supporter in the game so doubling up on her buffs turns an arts servant with an AoE noble phantasm into a wave-clearing god. Because of the way Arts NPs work, you get some NP charge back in "refund" from doing damage with the NP, and with all those arts and NP gain buffs from 2x castoria on him Murmasa will refill most of his NP gauge just from using his NP, allowing him to easily fire off consecutive NPs and clear multiple waves in quick succession. This is what we refer to as "looping" and it's how experienced players clear higher level content.

Happened with me on the gauntlet I was rolling for the last event. Might as well share it. Wanted just one of each pic related, plus the 5* gacha CE MLB. Things went nearly perfect, so perfect I was getting the targets too soon and consequently no CE out of the rolls.

Dusa came in 30 SQ.
Homete in 30 SQ too.
Miss Crane 330 SQ. Very few CE's out of it (think like 2), lots of 5* CE spooks which was frustrating.
Galatea 150 SQ. Again lots of spooks and I think I only got one more CE and my 5* servant goals were reached for the event.

Then I turned back to roll on the Huyan banner again while convincing myself to roll for the few remaining copies of the gacha CE. I was already wondering what the heck was I doing there as the cards were rolling, but what happened was that on the first 10 roll I got a copy of Feihu and on the next I got him again, the last copy to NP5 him from my rolls last year. That last roll brought one more 5* CE copy too so I was only missing one. But getting the last two NP's to max Feihu was pretty much him telling me to stop that madness, while bringing just one more CE, and that I very much did. The final copy of the 5* CE came a couple daily rolls later.

The funny thing is that a few days or a week before I was messing with some teams on Chaldea app, and was notiicng how underrated Feihu is (I was doing runs with him which I was previously doing with Ozy and with Feihu I had even more welcome space to backline bond some of my targets). But I had to have him NP5, which I did not at the time. So getting those two copies felt like a message to me.

The only two "must rolls" are Oberon and Castoria, after them roll for who you like. Skadi helps if the servants you like are quick, same with Vitch and buster.

Frankly, you don't even really need to roll for the must rolls, they're just an incredible QoL improvement. The game definitely isn't so hard that you need them to progress in the story, they just come very highly recommended since they smooth everything out.
