with post Ascent skills and 30 SF changes i think legion champ will be easier, grandis mp will be giving at least 50-70bil exp per run, making 260-270 a month instead of 3 now

The cutscene skip bug has been in the game now for 7 months. Do we think it is ever going to be addressed again? They never updated it from the "known issues" for v.255 and we're about to be moving to v.261 and they simply stopped mentioning it a long time ago. Usually bugs don't really change too much and we can work around them, this one being no different, but it is really inconvenient when someone who doesn't know skips a cutscene and sends P3 Kaling on a war path. (That's just one example. Playing hide n seek with lucid cuz she wont stop attacking sucks too)

Hello! I graduated in may and I've been trying to convince my friends to play maplestory to stay connected. I've used arguments like "Challenger's world is out and hyper burn takes you all the way to 260!" but that means nothing to them. I've used arguments like "There is an endless amount of things to do, bossing, mobbing, questing, monster collection, and more!" which they said "eh." I've tried "look how cute my character is!" and they said "y r u a gurl?" I did convince one of my friends who played as a kid to come back, they played for a week and kept dying out in CRA and quit. Another agreed to play once they saved up for a pc. I asked them how that was going and they said "negative, med school apps are expensive." I don't want my friends to drift away, they've already started moving and spreading out and I might move across the country pretty soon myself. In person things are all of a sudden really hard to do. Maplestory was my childhood. I absolutely loved everything about it, from the art style, the RPG-vibes, the flashy animations, the community, THE MUSIC. So many memories waking up early on the weekends to play Ludi-PQ. Living in South-East Asia, I was so hyped when the Singapore map came out! Honestly there are a few games that give me the brain-itch to come back and play, and they are Minecraft, Dota, and Maplestory. I've tried the other 2 and they are extremely fun, but they haven't scratched my RPG itch and so I'm left thinking about Maple.

Over the years I've stopped by the reddit just to see what's happening. And the general consensus is that every year the community sort of dwindles little by little. And in a world as big as maple, I'm curious if that can make it feel lonely or more isolating. Part of the reason why I would want to try again is for the MMO aspect.

I've also seen several concerns that the game is too grindy now, with the requirements for Legion? IDK too much about this, but I'm really just interested in having fun, so I'm curious if the grindiness effects the overall gameplay?

Long story short, I know it'll never live up to the rose-tinted memories I have for this game, but is it worth coming back at all?

it's probably less grindy unless you're trying to do the real end game stuff, 1-200 is pretty short and free now if your worried about legion and links and stuff, 200-260 takes a bit more time and 260-300 is when the real time crunch starts
it's a pretty good time to get into it if you want to try cause you get to speed through the early stuff and see if you like the real nu-maple experience pretty fast with the hyper burn and challenger gear stuff

Simply put, it’s a different game loop now. You can play it however you want, but it’s more catered towards solo progression. As in, the most important things to do are the daily quests, weekly quests, make new characters for legion/links, grind for mesos, and fight daily/weekly bosses. All of those activities except for bossing are solo, and even for bossing you’re incentivized to fight as many on your own as you can. So the vibes are different because everyone’s trying to optimize their playtime. It’s pretty time-consuming as well - can easily take up as much time (if not more than) a full-time job if you’re doing all the main stuff for growing your account.

But, the music is still absolutely amazing, including in the new areas. New boss fights are genuinely engaging, lots of classes are fun to play, and if you find a nice guild with new-ish players then the social aspect can still be pretty good. There’s no harm trying it out for a bit and seeing if you like it

damien difficulty is kinda class dependant honestly but I'd say it's will>lotus>lucid in terms of mechanical difficulty

hlotus and nlucid are pretty much the same
free phase 1 and cheeseable phase 2 (+ phase 3 in lotus' case)

i personally have an easier time with nlucid than hlotus
both are easy bosses thougheverbeit

In my experience in CW, hdamien > hlotus > nwill > nlucid

Damien is only number 1 because it requires the highest damage. Mechanically the fight is piss easy.
Lotus is a bit easier to kill but you can actually die in that fight. Not really an issue unless you're going for min clear though.
Will p1 is trivial. P2 has a lot going on and might cost a life or two from the potion block unless you have healing senpaitachi. P3 can get you webbed but is otherwise fairly simple.
Lucid is just easy all around, though p1 might cost you some lives from the golems falling on top of you.

p1 has the constant adds, p2 has considerably less uptime with her flying around and going invincible during attacks
honestly i prefer p1 over p2

it is impossible to die in lucid p1 unless you ignore the golems for too long and you can't get behind the green dragon
