Well, one of the last. Both primaries and support weapons became 2stronk for poor little mini mag AMR to keep up. I still enjoy playing it but it's become a pretty rare pick for me. AC and RG are too amazing on any target you could shoot your AMR at and HMG is pretty much only missing a telescope to be the superior sniper rifle. Also take any medpen primary to an acid storm - or really just eruptor to any biome - and find an excuse to be carrying AMR still. Shit is great dps when used optimally but still just mid. It deserves an upgrade but we got a whole bunch of abominations like the arc thrower lined up to get one first. Super grim.

Anon, people defend Quasar, a weapon that takes nearly a minute to kill two tanks instead of 6 seconds it'dd take with RR. In later games, they got a health bar that you could very much deplete with straight sniper fire. it was incredibly minor chip damage from small arms fire, and the sniper also had a tendency to ricochet off vehicle surfaces and deal zero damage instead of 5% damage. the only reliable way to kill vehicles was another vehicle or the rocket launcher. this is what made banshees so oppressive in halo 2 especially where they didn't have limited flight angles.

Out of a total of 100 major orders, the helldivers have won 72 and lost 28. That is a 72% win rate.
Of the 34 bug orders, the helldivers have won 32 and lost 2. That is a 94.12% win rate.
Of the 34 bot orders, the helldivers have won 25 and lost 9. That is a 73.53% win rate.
Of the 12 squid orders, the helldivers have won 6 and lost 6. That is a 50% win rate.
Of the 20 mixed-front orders, the helldivers have won 9 and lost 11. That is a 45% win rate.

And the revolving chamber reload is actually pretty nice. They could have just made it work exactly like the existing Grenade Launcher with a belt feed, but the six-chamber magazine is neat.

There is nothing in a patrol that I can't kill with my guns, and a pre-emptive 500kg call in on a bot drop does substantially more work by actually killing things instead of softening them up. Learning to land the 500kg beacon from a distance also teaches him to throw stratagems accurately, while not having two charges is fine since he'll learn to not rely on having a red up all the time.

Speaking from my anecdotal experience, I prefer Strafing Run over the 500 by virtue of the fact that I've watched the 500kg just not kill things within its radius before my very eyes.

I find strafing run to be way more cost effective vs factory striders. The only precondition is someone failing to poke the eye, resulting in a cracked helmet and exposed noggin. You need at least two 500kgs to knock out a factory strider. They have too much HP and a lot of their bits are resistant to explosions.

At the end of the day, you're still far better off using support weapons and/or grenades vs a FS' weakpoints than you are tossing any red stratagem at it.

It's pretty rare for the bots to drop close enough for one 500kg to hit more than one dropship worth of enemies at a time, and a strafing run also handily murders one dropship worth of enemies at a time.

If we talk about rewarding precision, a singular strafing run will kill hulks and tanks if you precisely drop it right in front of the target so that they get hit at the start of the run where the strafing run shots are most tightly clustered. Compared to a 500kg that will kill those targets within a far lazier radius. The reward for mastering that precision is a substantially larger number of call ins.

Strafing Run + Commando + EAT is spammable and universally good that it bends the bots over and decimates their exhaust assholes. It's so universally good against everything they have that you effectively have a free 4th slot. You can even take the Fag Flag and not be impeded in any meaningful way.

Need to emphasis what would make them unique from bugs or bots. Stealth and cloaking, shields, psionic mindfuckery, powerful rituals and spells etc. Right now they feel like some shitty zombie faction plus a few random units thrown in.
The Voteless and Fleshmobs can stay, and they should still come in hordes, but the hordes should be a lot rarer and reliant on a Necromancer or something that controls them.
The Necromancer reanimating dead Helldivers would also be cool.

I never tried it, but I assume yes. The reason I use frags is that you get more of them and the shrapnel is really good when the enemy is right on top of it. If the sparkler's damage is similar or better, it should work the same.

You get six sparklers baseline, and the sparks inflict AP5 damage that can kill tanks. You can kill factory striders with them by tossing a few at its feet. But I don't know if the important hitboxes on an impaler will get hit by the sparks. As I type this I wonder if it would just make more sense to target the impaler's feet with the sparklers.

For the first few moment's of the sparkler's life, it's extremely vulnerable to getting kicked around by enemies touching it. They're more stable once they get going and are airborne. Try not to hit the enemies directly, and try to time it so that they won't get within touching distance of it until after it gets airborne.

You're never killing a charger, bile titan or harvester with one strafe. Only thing that it consistently kill is an impaler which is a compete non issue because it dies to AP2.

I don't even play this game, but I'll give an honest answer. The Illuminate look like they ported over models from Destiny. There is no unique visual flair present.
The bots suffer a similar thing. Everything with them is taken from somewhere else, and there is no unique visual identity.
The bugs? They're generic enough where you can't directly place it, but they still reek of StarCraft 2 era muscle Zerg.
Helldivers 2 is really shit when it comes to "unique IP identity".

Even with more unique aliens like the Thargoids in Elite, and it's a thing that's not commonly realized, they went for human cultural memory as the theme. Thargoids scouts look like silver age UFOs. Thargoid interceptors look like biblically-accurate Seraphim. Scythes look like nothing, and Frontier pussed out on ever designing ground units or showing the Thargoids themselves.
Design is hard, especially if you want something with aesthetics. But Helldivers just steals.

we give the squids a unique megabase that's like an overship under construction, you have to get to the center of the compound and make the dark fluid drive collapse in on itself, it happens so fast that it might spaghettify several divers in the process

Speaking of which, while it's relevant, I actually really have issues with chargers. Less killing them (Aim for legs, back, etc., use AT, they're just tanky), but more dealing with their movement. I can take them out fine if they're not doing their bullshit, but I keep getting killed by them out of nowhere. Like they come silently running out of the mist of some random corner on a foggy ass planet, I try and dodge, and they run me down.

I've looked up tactics on it, I've seen it on video, but I don't fucking get it. If I dodge perpendicular, they just loop around. If I try and dive on a diagonal toward them, half the time I just get hit, and on the occasions I don't, they seem to make a 90 degree fucking turn and do it anyways. To the point I feel like something got glitched with their movement like the Hulk occasionally, but it's really pissing me off since I handle bugs fine otherwise and dodge everything else in the game.

It did take a lot of fire from different sources, but factory striders have a metric SHIT TON of HP spread across dozens of different components. Its main health pool has ten thousand HP. Virtually its HP is much higher than that once you take into account damage resistances, durability, and pass-through damage reduction from hitting the assorted parts. That's why they take so much of a beating when people are just blindly throwing damage at it. To kill it quickly you need to concentrate fire on a singular subcomponent that will outright kill the FS as a side effect so that you don't need to deplete all 10k HP. In that clip, the "might of super earth" is just a rocket sentry blating it. Just glancing at the FS's stats, most of its armor plates are armor level 5 with 100% durability, 40% explosive damage resistance, and 30% transfer to main HP. The rocket sentry inflicts 525 AP5 direct damage and 150 AP 3 explosion. So the armor is immune to the explosions and only receives 65% of the direct damage. That's ~341 damage per hit. Five rockets hit, for a total of ~1700 damage split across multiple appoints. 30% passed through to the main HP, so the rocket sentry only depleted ~500 HP out of its factory strider's 10,000 HP pool

Meanwhile the quasar cannon instantly deleted 2000 of the front left foot's 3500 HP, and the sparklers quickly depleted the remaining 1500 HP.

The game is fairly balanced, hyper reliant on blues, greens are way over tuned compared to reds. Eagles are in a good place. Orbitals are atrocious in most cases.
Explosives and one tap precision weapons are top tier in every scenario, save flames.
Urchins are secretly broken, gas grenades are obviously broken. Basic grenades are extremely undertuned.
Heavy armor is unironically hard mode.
