well i'll tell you my story
my friends started in 2009 (beta), i started in season 1. my friends were much better, season 3/4 diamonds or plat at least (top 2%), while i was season 3/4 gold (top 15%), so to play with them, i had to be on top tank or support duty. i quit in season 5 because i didn't like the new map which i still consider soulless.

i liked watching esports from season 2-4, uzi playing vayne was my favorite, that's what i always wanted to learn, but to keep up with them in ranked 5s, i had to play top and support. so in 2023 i reinstalled, with no friends, no nothing, and wanted to play ADC and hit montage clips. but the role has been nerfed trash since season 7 apparently.
since then it's been play 3 weeks -> ragequit or get banned for a few months -> reinstall -> repeat. i don't want to play any other role or class. every toplaner could be a 70% winrate hitlerchampion, i wouldn't care, i already did that from season 1-5 when they were weak. i want to play ADC but it's nerfed trash now and riot is rigging my games.

Can someone who likes flexing their knowledge explain to me a bit more in depth how Slow pushing works or when to focus on getting prio etc? This is the limit of my knowledge thus far :

I haven't played league in about 3 years, but it dawned on me today that I met my friends and girlfriend in some way due to league of legends.

Back in 2012, when I was in HS there was a guy I always thought was cool but didn't know that well. One day, at a party, we talked and it turned out we both had just started playing a game called "league of legends". We both hit level 30 together and he stopped playing shortly after. We remain best friends to this day, and through him we built a friend group.

My girlfriend is a funnier story. Back in 2017 I met a girl and after about a month I discovered she played league of legends too. When I found out her username, I was in shock. About a year before this I was playing Vayne in solo q and a support with that very distinctive username, playing the same champion she mains, had flamed me more than any human being in all my time playing.

From what I remember, the first wave had finally come to tower, and we were getting our cheeks clapped for the effort of bringing it there (as it sometimes happens with Vayne). Our jungler came to gank (risky to be 2v3'd) and she overextended, tanking the minions and died. Despite her int, I kept my composure. Paragraphs of flame came for the remainder of the game about that one instance. I cannot put in to words the amount of flame one human being produced - that's why it stood out to me a year later. She also remembered the game when I told her about it.

Despite being an unhinged league of legends demon, it is the only red flag and we have been a couple for 8 years. It's quite hilarious that neither of us in that game could imagine we would end up being together. I guess I won in the end ;). Always remember that you never know who the person you are flaming in solo q is - it may be your brother, sister, future wife or husband. Likewise, the person flaming you may also be an extremely attractive, otherwise normal cute girl.

big prio moments: level 1 when waves meet.
other big prio moments in bronze 1 75 lp: its a spook that doesnt matter most of the time because your teammates typically dont play off of it. get prio when youre stronger than everybody so if something happens on either river you can move to it for #free

you have a bunch of gold in your pocket and you want to recall. if your opponent cant contest your slow push, you stack up your wave and then when you get closer to his turret you all in his wave to get the wave to crash into his tower allowing you to back off and recall in a bush forcing him to collect the wave you stacked up meaning the wave will reset into the middle of the lane or even better, be on your side of the lane as you walk back with an item purchased. now he either loses in a fight against you because you have an item that he doesnt or he has to recall. This concept is tempo. he will constantly be behind you because you will likely recall before he does the next time as well, meaning hes always playing catchup with a component or item. this can at some point be leveraged to gain a kill over your opponent.

and if you play mid as you said you can also utilize prio to roam bottom lane. or if youre playing against a zed, talon kat or fizz provided youre a good enough player to not die to these champs, you can utilize prio at all points in the game to prevent them roaming and snowballing.
