Japanese games are stingy as fuck. There's no carryover pity so expect to only roll 2-3 times a year if you play it safe. If you roll like you do in hoyo games you're very likely to brick your account and not get anything.
There are events that give you free 10 pulls daily for like a week or so though. From these you'll have a lot of UR's but not necessarily the ones you want.

the rate for 3*s is 3% as opposed to hoyo's 0.6% which is significantly higher, although instead of the rate-up being a 50/50 it's closer to a 25/75. You get a "spark" at 200 rolls on a banner that you can trade in to guarantee the rate-up instead, and the spark counter doesn't carry between banners like pity does in hoyo games. After a banner ends the character gets put into the standard pool and can show up as a spook at any point going forwards, so it isn't quite as bad as in hoyo stuff. There also isn't nearly as much of a meta so there isn't the same pressure to roll for "good" horses like in hoyo games so much as you can just roll for whoever you like.

No you're not expected to roll constantly, the ideal is dumping your entire stash every 2-3 months for a guaranteed spark plus a bunch of shit but you're a grown man and can make your own choices
Meta is in the support cards, weapons I guess is the equivalent, while characters are easy to get through drip fed tokens
Buying pulls is disgusting in price but they have rape tickets at anni/half anni so you can just spend on that and grab what you want directly

No limiteds, everything goes into the pool after their banners. No standard banners.
SSR rate is 3%. Rate up target is 0.75% regardless of single or double, if it is a double banner they are both 0.75% and the rate is not split between them. Since everything goes into the pool you can expect a lot of offrate SSRs but you can get something good since everything is in the pool.

Relatively slow powercreep, many early umas are still useful in the modern day in JP. Most good support cards last for about a year and even after can still be used as second options. There's even a launch support that is still used in decks today in JP (4.5 years later). Downside is SSR supports are generally worse than a maxed SR support unless the SSR is uncapped 2/3 times at least, so you want to get multiple copies. There is a borrow system though, where you can just borrow a powerful card from someone else.
Reruns happen in the form of choose-your-own-rate-up banners where you create your own banner from a pool of ten possible uma/support. The game also has free/paid selector tickets, usually every half and actual anniversary, where every single released uma or support is available to pick.

In order of importance:
1. Pay attention to events. An event option that restores energy is usually going to be better than one that does something else, and you consistently get these for events like new years on all characters on top of being able to take support cards that also restore energy in their events. avoid event choices that cost stamina unless their benefits are truly worth it.
2. Wit training restores stamina and Wit is a good skill. It doesn't restore a lot but spending a turn going up a little instead of down is going to reduce the amount of times you need to rest dramatically.
3. Consider better Support cards. Especially if you get one that enables Date events instead of recreation, tazuna especially can replace resting entirely with much better options that never fail and serve several good purposes. But even just ones that have minor benefits like raising Wit stamina or lowering stamina cost, those can add up fast.
