Damage boost on skill would still be meh even without hp drain, because it's only 8% boost and it's only for cursed sword mode which is something you probably won't use much for damage. And with hp drain it's garbage.
Flat stat boosts are better than nothing, but the boosts they give are too tiny to be useful.
Phys attack is laughable +4%, and chances are you're gonna switch to elemental weapon to exploit nightlord's weakness anyway.

Carried some randoms as Guardian for Caligo but they definitely earned it. Neither had any estus left and Caligo had 1/4th hp remaining. The Wylder ran out of estus first but managed to not get hit for a long while with a sliver of hp remaining. Unfortunately we both got hit, but Ironeye kept his nerve. Gaols aren't randomly placed so it is still the same routing every game, you've just replaced camps with gaols.
Gaols are only good early on day 1, after that the rune payout to time invested isn't really there. Rolling on a passive that isn't 10k/20k/30k or 10% more runes isn't worth it. Never getting gear isn't worth it.

Wylder is basically a minmaxed Vagabond Elden Ring character.
Minimum in ARC/INT/FTH, good stats in everything else.
Which makes him the ultimate melee class.
Specially since because of the way weapons scale in Nightreign, Wylder can effectively use anything outside of a few exceptions like the Cipher Pata and the Ripple Halberd.

This combined with his flawless skillset that doesn't lock him into a gimmick playstyle allows the player to enjoy the roguelike elements the most out of all classes.
Wylder is the default character in the sense that it feels like he's the character the entire game was designed around.

It's kind of sad that Recluse fails to be the same thing but for casting.

With the triple yellow relic category, Executor can run the gaol relic, frost nightlord relic, and poison nightlord relic. This is a very strong build composed of only guaranteed relics. Fromsoft always seems to give katana builds a quick easy way to be powerful in all their games for an obvious reason.
