First two chapters are very rough and filter plenty of people for a number of valid reasons, HOWEVER I know how it sounds but please give it a shot at least until Chapter 3. If that isn't enough for you then you shouldn't force yourself.
This game is heavy yuribait, mostly because of chinese censorship but you're not getting bean flicking CGs, it took them 2 years to get the courage for two backgrounds NPC girls to refer to each other as "darling" or something like that. People will respond to you with intentionally ambigous lines/CGs, fanart or obscure symbolism but be aware that it's mostly extra vague and not always canon.
As much as the game feels generous, every gachafag will tell you this to convice you to stay, but I'd say this time it's true because you're getting a coinflip each patch and with a little bit more luck or the monthly (just $6) you can realistically get soft pity towards a guarantee.
Don't fall for metafagging, this game is piss easy and the only content that isn't is just heavy whalebait roster check which also is permanent. You don't need to rush it. Not even the monthly raids feel this forced.
People will do their best to convince you to listen to the English voice acting, which, admirably, sometimes sounds good for once, given that it's a cheap chinese gacha, but most of the time it's atrocious. Japanese, Chinese and Korean also have some flaws but they're actually not that common.
Rerolling is easy and quick, if you've already found a character that you desire check if they're from a patch older than [current-3] or if it's the current bannar one. So if you wanted someone from 2.5, then too bad, but if you wanted someone from 2.7 or 2.4 and earlier, try your luck.
If you're planning on wallet gaming then you have about a month to pay up because R1999 gets anniversary resets.
Also some of the posters here are actual women or at least are very good at pretending.

I acknowledge the flaws of the first two chapters because they're just that drastic.
And yes, they are worse than the rest of the main story. Even worse than the filler/setup chapters. They can leave a good first impression but mostly due to shock value and exposition. I judged the story by as much as there was available at launch, so all 4 chapters. The first half has issues but thet second left me impressed.

The bigger issue is that the EN voice acting industry is kind of screwed, not even because of the SAG-AFTRA shitshow, it's been an issue for much longer. The known and skilled VAs are actually expensive and the ones who would be capable and not that pricey think that they deserve better than some random chinese gacha. To this day, even if anime has become completely mainstream in the West, it's still not viewed as something worthy of a "real actor", who aspires to get into Hollywood. That's also the reason why the English anime/jrpg voice acting is the way it is. Beggars can't be choosers and you end up with actual, unironic Xitter randos as your cast with maybe throwing a buck or two on somewhat-known VAs for the bigger roles. Vertin's, Regulus's and Kakania's are professional stage actors, but this doesn't have to mean anything when MedPoc's supposed to be one too. At the same time Tuesday's isn't after any acting school but she's just that good and the opposite can be said about Sonetto's. I still don't know why the fuck would they scout her. By comparison basically all Japanese VAs are after voice acting schools and are represented by plenty of agencies and most have solid portfolios.
You get what you pay for or pray to luck out. Like MAPPA looking for animators for their megaprojects.

The first two chapters didn't bother me but there was a widespread critical reaction to them (not just here) so I think it's worth mentioning to new players to give awareness that it might not be smooth sailing for them.
Grammatical issues and typos aside (which I heard have been fixed), the first two chapters are regarded by many as a chaotic mess of storytelling and that chapters 3 and 4 are an improvement but actually the two sets are written to match the feel of their settings and situations.
Rather than telling all this to new players, I just give a gentle warning because I want them to experience the story for themselves and make up their own minds.
The game is difficult to shill so I avoid doing it, only occasionally responding to potential players asking what they might want to watch out for.

In a nutshell, there were so many complaints about various aspects of the game's first two chapters (even things that weren't actual issues) that it's been established that new players might need some encouragement or warning.
