Are you using Windows 10/11? If you are, then you're fucking retarded. Microsoft's support for older hardware is horrendous. All the bloat garbage that Windows contains is computationally expensive, so naturally your CPU will underperform.

If you want to get more use of your old hardware, then switch to Linux. If you don't want to do that, then at least downrade to Windows 7, which is still supported by Dota.

Picking a Linux distro is kind of like picking a gaming platform. I'm talking like Steam/GOG/whatever. They all install on a similar base, the same games are on more than one platform, and you just have to pick which platform gimmick you want. Some have better software support than others. With gaming, you want proper driver support for your hardware and for your games (the two are not the same, often), and not getting accidentally VAC banned by shitty DRM that thinks you opening a debugger is the same as hacking/cheating/whatever.

You do need to want to learn some shitcoding so you can navigate all the issues you will run into along the way.

The entire role of top lane is filled with heroes with 90-10 matchups that can literally 1v5 games. Jungle has shit like graves and nidalee that can make the enemy jungler rage quit by 10 mins in. Bot lane has shit that can kill tanks in 3 seconds, supports have enough cc to hold someone in place for 7 seconds in a game with no bkb because cleanse is fucking garbage. Mid lane has outrageous game counters like viktor and xerath that can out range literally everything on the map and can't be killed without certain comps.

It's not as severe as season 3 where you probably won 90% of the games you were in if you were the best player in the lobby but it's close, especially if you are smurfing or actually good. I use to boost accounts to masters and it was almost impossible for me to lose a game if I played jungle and i wasn't even a jungler.

League is a game entirely of micro, in an absolute sense of controlling your hero and hitting/dodging skillshots. In early league it had loads of targeted abilities, but now it has very few so being able to land and dodge them is incredibly important. You can win almost any matchup in league if you are just objectively mechanically better, this is not the same in dota because fights are not decided by dodging a single skillshot when you have so much point and click abilities, and items like sheepstick,orchid,nullifier etc.

Faker in his prime was the most insane version of raw mechanical skill, he would take certain heroes, lb,zed,orianna into literally anything and stomp everyone into the ground. He was the most insane case of a prodigy, in his first year he was the best player in the world, beating every single korean legend in the first games he played. None of that is transferable to dota in any sense, he might have an eaiser time in dota than dendi did in league because he obviously has some incredibly high game iq that dendi never had or if he did lost it over a decade ago.

I am speaking of personal experience in both games, i was top 1k on league and on my 4th month was ancient 3 before i got stuck in low prio and couldn't play ranked.

I'm having a Nelson Mandela moment. For the longest time I thought the Weaver swarm bugs died to AoE magic damage even if they were generally untargetable. I swear I would see their HP bars go down quickly during teamfights and nobody was attacking them, so I just assumed they died to AoE shit. But today I watched a low HP carry died to a full HP bug they never attacked. I didn't think they'd die to the bug because they had a Radiance on so it was just a "ehh whatever" sort of deal but the bug never took damage from Radiance, and the carry died (lmao).

Wiki says they're magic immune, testing in demo proves that's correct, and they also don't take damage from physical damage spells. So...I guess the bugs are basically immune to all spells, and I don't know what was killing the bugs previously. So either the enemy team dropped everything to kill the bugs first (which explains why we won fights so easily) or there was something else attacking them during fights that I missed.

I don't remember which games I saw them "die" to AoE shit so I guess I'm not going to get to the bottom of what was killing them until I see it happen again in a different game, or I go through all my replays from the past month, or do an exhaustive autism checklist of spell interactions which I don't want to do.

Though now that I think about it, I guess I should check weird interactions like seeing if the bugs die instantly inside a Mars arena, and if shit like Undying zombies would attack the bugs. And also definitively write down which cases are bug-immune and which aren't (e.g. I can't tell you if Winter Wyvern targets are bug immune right now. Probably not?). Ahhhh I hate doing research.

Now I play with people that have 4-10k matches yet are no different to herald players, except for the fact that they think they’re smart and backseat other people’s gameplay with 50iq advice. 2 years ago they released the TI stickers/emoji/spray supporter packs. the thing is after a month the sprays broken then after 4-5 months the emoji broke. the sprays for the TI 2023 were broken for an entire year valve then sold 2024 supporter packs some of which were exactly the same TI 2023 supporter pack with no change without fixing the 2023 sprays/emoji. a month afterwards the 2024 supporter packs also broke until some faggot on reddit said he was going to go tell a journalist about how scummy valve is then they fixed it in 12 hours.

they only fixed the spray though the emoji from the 2023 TI support pack have been broken ever since.

let me break down something for you. no, it's actually not my responsibility to file a bug report. when customers buy a product when it breaks they toss it away or forget about it just making a mental note to not buy from the company again. it's a very small amount of customers who actually spend their energy to report it. there's soemthing critical here too while a small amount will report it if it doesn't get fixed it creates a chilling effect so they won't spend energy on you or your product again.
