Grinding Ganon in Melee is both fun and painful.
I cannot for the life of me play neutral at all against top-tiers. Feels like I can only throw aerials or cc and pray my opponent makes a mistake. Well insofar as secondaries go you can’t really go wrong with playing Ganon/Falcon. A lot of Falcons have good Ganons for similar reasons. But what I can say is that if you knuckle down and try to methodically and thoughtfully improve neutral on a by-matchup basis you’ll come out of this phase much better than most players in general.

Why do 95% of foxes on slippi play super defensive against Falcon when his main strength in the matchup is how weak Falcon is to shield pressure?

I usually only lose badly to aggressive foxes but people insist on playing lazy I guess so I rarely get practice against the actually meta style.

I actually largely play defensive against Fox. That’s part of why campy foxes are so boring since I need to play more aggro foxes if I want to improve meaningfully. All I’m saying is that in 2 days of gameplay, 1/20 foxes I played against played aggressively and pressured my shield, pretty much destroyed me but was great practice. Of the remaining 19 I had a disproportionately high win rate and they all had nearly identical playstyles, with only a couple having a well-developed non-crutch punish game.

Grinding Ganon in Melee is both fun and painful.

I refuse to believe peach is actually high tier. she gets destroyed by every actually relevant character. spacies, marth, sheik, puff, falcon, all wreck her shit. she has no good way to approach besides turnip spamming and praying. without armada propping her up with GOAT abilities she is seen as mid tier at best. she can float cancel, so what? its still not as fast as SHFFLing spacies, sheik or falcon. still has slow as fuck air speed that gets dabbed on by jiggs. her aerials come out quick, but have shit range that will get raped by sheik and marth. down smash? has tons of ending lag and will get punished by anyone who knows what theyre doing. stitch face and dot eyes? you wont even pull a single one most matches. face it, peach moves like fucking molasses on the ground and in the air in a game thats all about speed. shes absolute shit and I picked the wrong character to main 20 years ago. even meme picks like pikachu, yoshi, and samus are much better than peach if you put in the work. playing peach against anyone whos played the game more than 40 hours is playing on hard mode.

I know what they could do for SmashVI: time travel...okay, that sounds stupid lemme explain - the ability to choose thr different movesets and stats from across all five games, and it's presented like going back or forth in time, even having the different models and voice packs.

Why do 95% of foxes on slippi play super defensive against Falcon when his main strength in the matchup is how weak Falcon is to shield pressure?

I usually only lose badly to aggressive foxes but people insist on playing lazy I guess so I rarely get practice against the actually meta style.

wobbling was good for melee. think about it. wobbling is banned and tournament viewership immediately foes from like 150k per supermajor to 80k per supermajor. look it up. people used to watch melee tournaments just to root for the wobbler because they think its funny or root for the guy trying to beat the wobbler. either way, no matter how you look at it, wobbling was good for viewership, sponsorships, and the scene overall. also its part of the game and didnt deserve to be banned for that reason.
