Gacha games can EOS pretty quickly, so there wasn't any reason to have more than 2 years of story prepared. When Volume F ended they had to figure out what the fuck they were doing for a while and the sabotage didn't help, and V1C3, V4C2, and Decagrammaton may as well be an extended epilogue as they do that. When 5th anni comes and we get a huge Decagrammaton event in the style of Volume F's world raids it's really just going to be a precursor for what the second major story of BA really is. They'll tie up loose ends with defeating Decagrammaton since it's been there from the start, but they'll accomplish something that'll introduce a huge new story element or big bad. This may in turn tie into V5 somehow, but is more likely to take the form of a large Eden Treaty-level story with Wild Hunt.

Either way, it's unfortunate it's taken them 3 years after Volume F to really figure out what they want to do, but you could argue it's been back on track since V1C3 finished/3.5 anni and they're just easing into it.

Note that hardly anyone actually complained about last years content. The only consistent complaints by the majority were how long it took to get main story out. We meanwhile got several events people loved, and the main story we received was received well by the majority.

There's nothing actually on record for "sabotage".
Some people claim that there was sabotage, without being able to point to anything in terms of content. One could argue the sabotage was taking staff, but if they mean "sabotaged the game" they're going to have to explain why hardly anyone complains about 2024 of BA.
There is a more compelling argument that one specific artist was sabotaging things, including the lead artist, but it didn't actually do much of anything.
