Strategy/tactics game players are known for making mods that give buffs to enemies, improve AI and in general want for enemy AI to keep up with them and complain when this is not the case. cRPGfags meanwhile cry and shit themselves at a mere mention of level scaling, only ever bring up Oblivion as an anti-example and in general wish for their enemies to be weak and defenseless.

I make mercenaries, equip them and level up alongside all other companions. Sometimes I will unequip everything on everyone and then equip them again just to sort things out. I buffed enemies so hard they are damage sponges who hit like trucks, so I have to reload more often and battles last for more rounds. I use a lot of characters in every game I play which in turn based ones dramatically extends every battle. I do so because more characters = bigger battles = more fun

Originally, Obsidian was slated with the development of a cRPG using the Pathfinder system, but after the disaster the adaption of the Card Game was, and how Obsidian was its lazy and incompetent self, they burnt all bridges.
On the other hand, Stevens didn't exactly show a lot of insight into the video game world with Pathfinder Online, so who knows.

Question anons, does the skill test difficulty modifier effect the battles? I'm on unfair but I feel like I'm still steamrolling through the game. I do have my skill test on high just so I can use my tech skills/persuasion in the dialogue.

My character would have killed this guy back on Gomorrah, but I recruited him because there are two steam achievements associated with having him that I wanted. Then, you can get those achievements immediately, but I forgot and he stood around for a while, long enough to trigger his companion questline. So at that point, I decided to just keep him around for the sake of muh content and seeing what the quest had.
Heresy is a slippery slope. I was supposed to kill him but i didn't, and now he's still alive at the end of the game. I'll be sure to kill him right before the game ends. When is the latest you can kill him? I'll finish his quest and see everything and then kill him at the last moment.

Sometimes it pays to be patient. Many, many more xenos are dying as a result of our patience, including a great many that we would never have been able to reach in Gomorragh. Shooting everything you see has its merits, but sometimes cleverness serves the Emperor better.

From the general wording it seems like it was supposed to be unlocked quite early in the game, before Cumrag.
From the flag name, it seems to refer to a scenario where you were able to save some of the survivors instead of them all blowing themselves up to get away from Yrliet.
Probably cut content which left this inaccessible dialogue option which was never fixed.
Then they never bothered to write new dialogue to replace it, especially post-romance.

Like, unfair's only real difficulty is not going first and those really shitty encounters where you have no cover or place to hide so your enemies group up into a nice cluster to blow the fuck up. Your enemies are likely to always hit you and boss characters have such bloated stats that they will always do that. But if you start first and stack your characterstics to the moon or stun with Cassia and Idira, you can take that one turn to kill most of the mooks so you can just focus on the one ridiculous boss if you didn't kill them along with the rest
As a result, unfair is like a fucking coinflip between you getting stomped or your enemies getting stomped. I don't like it. It's satisfying when I do stomp, but it just feels so hollow. Build doesn't really matter because it all hinged on lucking out on initiative. In comparison, Hard and Daring are a cakewalk BECAUSE of your good character building. That's the real difficulty, especially with so many trash talents and abilities.
