Well, you might say the second point happens to every deck, but Pendulums are specially annoying because you know their combos last fucking forever, more than any other deck.
That wouldn't be a problem, if you didn't have the illusion of being able to win if they ever so slightly mess up their combos (forcing you to stay there seated in the go-second cuck chair watching them masturbate) because unlike other decks with long combos, I admit that Pendulums are not braindead and it's easy to mess up with them if you are not paying attention.

Why is this card still legal in the game, much less every format? Banish decks are inherently nigger decks and deserve nothing.

I've been having fun playing a scuffed Maliss deck in the event.
I don't feel as powerful as in the ladder due to no Link Decoder, no Apollousa and multiple hits.
But trying out cards like Parallel eXceed, Meowmine, Dotscaper and even Unexpected Dai (lol) has been fun.
I'm still a relatively new player (still in gold), but I'm having fun doing freestyle with Maliss in this event, even moreso when no one is running Lancea so I can practice better.

This card is so funny

29 event duels so far, 7 coinflips won and 22 coinflips lost
Better than my ranked stats for some reason, 39 duels, 16 coinflips won and 23 coinflips lost

Finally got the over 8000 damage title from the event by playing Budget Crusadia OTK.
A lot more tiresome to do without kaijus and event restrictions (Parallell Exceed limited to two, single lightning strike etc.) and having to rely on a single Wobby/moving my opp's monster, especially constantly being forced to bait out Dragoon's negate and hoping my opp doesn't imperm the other monster zone.
Overall I spent 90 SR and 750 gems for the deck.

Older archetypes? Why even touch old archetypes?
They already sold, which means they won't sell anymore unless they create new cards, with good effects.
But then the decks will probably not be good because they will still need old cards.
So it's easier to make new archetypes with that concept in mind.
I think a few select few cards should have errata. But I personally think floodgates and cards like Shifter, Fissure, Macro should be untouched so a player who runs them can potentially be punished if they run against certain matchups.

I am still missing resources to craft my Maliss deck. But I decided to give the event a go with the loaners.
It's surprisingly playable! I'm not sure how the event works but it feels good to play in even with a loaner.
I was able to complete my dailes for the first time ever and am getting more resources and might be able to complete my first meta deck.
I still think the game is massively flawed but I'm feeling pretty good now. I might survive learning Yu-Gi-Oh after all!

The solo gates, while tedious have gems locked behind those elements. There might be a guide as to what's the necessary paths to take.

Another trick to get "free UR/pack pulls" is by crafting certain SR cards and pulling the bonus pack. This will eat up SR points but you have the chance to get UR dust. Ideally worth it once you already have playable deck and need to craft extra staples.

Those Extra Deck URs are all important but for the main deck there's nothing stopping you switching out those UR cards for cheaper alternatives until you've got the gems.

The March Hares and the Magnamhut could be replaced with more SR Bystials. They do essentialy the same thing but slightly worse
The missing Fuwalos/Gold Sarc could be Allure of Darkness (also SR)

This is because you usually end your turn with only GWC on the field, and more often than not your target for it will be White Binder, and your opponent knows that.

Yes. Megalith has never been good in MD not counting the N/R format and they haven't gotten new cards in years, meanwhile Maliss was known to be the clear best deck before we even knew March Hare was going to be released. Missing 1 Sarc and some hand traps isn't going to make or break the deck. The missing ED monsters limit your options somewhat but that's not a major deal compared to playing Megaliths.
If you're having fun with Megaliths though, go ahead and continue playing them. As you rank up you'll start to see their limits more but that doesn't mean you have to be playing the best deck, especially not as a brand new player.

I'd suggest against getting the Dominus Impulses right now though unless you absolutely end up loving this deck. They're more limited in what decks you can use them in so it'd probably be better to get hand traps that can go in every future deck instead. Using the bundle options like Ghost Ogre, Ghost Bell, Effect Veiler, and Nib makes good sense for a new account. Talents too.

Learning the game in general. Modern Yugioh is a very complex game and people come into it with a lot of preconceptions about how it's supposed to be which both hold them back from learning how it's played and from having fun with it. It's also a very knowledge based game so having to learn everything from scratch will take a lot of time. What cards do what, what decks do what, etc.
MD at least handles the rules for you, but you'll still need to put in the effort to learn why the cards work the way they do if you want to be able to know how things will work in advance.

Megalith can do some heinous stuff. Amorphactor Pain and Thunder of Ruler can effectively turn skip. Granted setting the trap is not consistent without beatrice (thank god), but you can use thrust if you want instead. In paper you can do the Magician of Black Chaos Max on your opponents turn or gravity dragon for burn.

You can use the light fairy engine to add Lancea during your combo in this format as well.

Block dragon is back to add more bodies and protect the board.

Impcantations can add huge consistency and can add the non megalith rituals into your combos.

The problem with megalith was the amount of in archetype points of interactions and going minus 2 to get your plays going with the megalith rituals. The upcoming support mostly fixes that problem in engine. While I think the new boss monster is lazy in creativity and design, it's undeniably a cracked card and at least it's not a one card combo like Habakiri.

Drytron is good when bystials are not massively in play, but with maliss in the format, it's a toss up due to varying builds.
However searching Vanity's ruler or Lancea with benten is also a good counter to maliss too.

Hungry Burger is fun, but stuggle at closing games (can pick apart a board though). Ryu-Ge (if you count it) is better as an engine for other decks, but still ok on its own. Demise and Ruin for a mostly free deck due to solo mode, mostly a jank otk deck. Herald is just not worth the hassle when pure drytron is arguable better and more consistent. Libromancer can do some fun stuff with the ritual cyberse tech. Dogmatika is mostly a stun deck in the same vein as Mega Zaborg turbo, but can cheese wins based on the match up. Megalith is mostly cope, but cheap. Nekroz is not that good, even with the new support. Shinobirds are fine, but mostly played as amano iwato turbo, but they have natural board breaking effects.

VV is currently still arguably the best ritual deck in the game due to the low floor of the deck and the simple combo lines.

When mitsurugi drops, that'll be arguably the best deck, let alone the best ritual deck, in the game.

Biggest problem with Yuya.dek in general is anime bloat.

Lot of cards are stupidly situational or downright unusable under actual real world scenario, really annoying given that he is the most supported protag by far.

Nouvelles is due for support in like 6+ months and it does solves major issues.

More consistency with the new chef and Hanrgy Burger. Continous spell that burns, targets the rituals (helps proc the ritual effects in engine), that is also a final attack orders (which is also needed). Also Hangry burger is an additional wipe that also encourages playing the original burger (kino).

That and the new chef is a light fiend, so its splashable with FS. And since there are a complete set of scales, you can pend level 1 to 7 monsters, so you can pend out Diviner as well (amongst other things).

The new support is legitimately good, it's just a matter of waiting. I would recommend trying it in EDO first obviously since the naming of the cards and what they can do is the biggest learning curve in that archetype. Currently in MD they rely a lot on other engines, like Impcantations, or light fairy engine to get their plays going.

In modern ygo, banishing for cost/effect from GY is very common place. While not always outright killing turns for most decks like Maliss, but key extenders in others.

Some examples:
Bystals, crytrons, vision hero vyon/miracle fusion, gates of the dark world, Swoso Taia, wanted (less so important), fiendsmith tract fusion effect, chimera for the negates and reborn effects, Abyssrhine, double evolution pill/Misc, Ancient gear duel, Ryu-Ge war zone, etc.

Granted a lot of those are not tiered decks, but just dropping a lancea in draw phase or in proper response can potentially kill rogue decks as well to do anything meaningful. That's not even talking about Evenly matched or stopping shifter with lancea as a defensive play. At worse it can be just a 1:1 trade, but that alone might still be worth to main deck for a while.

Lancea was never a bad card, just hard to justify itself in the HT lineup in formats of the past few years.
