had a dream last night where i was in a zombie apocalypse except there was a little twitch chat on the bottom left corner of my vision that had deltarune characters reacting to various things going on
at one point i ended up on a farm and was sneaking all around when i saw a little building that looked like it might have some supplies so i headed over there. right before i went inside i turned around and took a good look at the environment and saw the silhouette of a cow in the woods running at like 50 miles per hour
i pretended not to notice it and went inside the building but not before all the characters started spamming BEEF CREATURE in chat
like a little spamton head is saying [BEEF CREATURE] and ralsei is going "oh that's the beef creature"
i woke up after placing a pile of like 50 eggs into a basket
i only slept from 5 am to 11 am because i couldn't fall asleep for some reason

If intentional, then Dess is related to the woody theory and if the theory that Asgore is the cowboy character referenced in that theory real, then that gives us proof that Asgore had a relation in the disappearance of Dess. It can also refrence the Knight too. The knight is related to/controlled by someone named FRIEND and The knight is theorized to be Dess, so could be. Ok, as someone that's not overly invested in ships (except for Kris/Soul x Susie which I accepted that it will not happen and its foolish to hope), here are my ratings on romance feasability for all chars:

Quite bad chances for both and it will very much depend on how their story wraps up or if they will stay alive. Kris has no shot with Noelle, both very small shot with Susie and both have a slightly better but still bad shot with Berdly. And definetly no shot with Ralsei for Kris - that would be weird and semi-incestuous.

Good shot with Noelle, almost no shot with Berdley, possible shot with Ralsei if he becomes a real boy. Good chances with Soul and maybe Kris, if only they weren't existentially challanged.

Queen's probably my favorite out of the chapter bosses. Damn it. I was a diehard Papyrus will only be used for jokes guy, mostly out of annoyance with people who wanted him to be the knight or forgotten man or something else extremely important. But a few days ago someone pointed out to me two important things.
1. A big red scarf is a key feature in Papyrus's design. (And getting matching ones with flowy was a cute character moment.
2. Ralsei is next in line to get a secret boss weapon.
Now suddenly the entire subplot has been made clear in my head damn it.

In the context of the story, maybe falling into the acid made him shorter. If you look at his sprite, his legs are disproportionately shorter than his torso and head. Maybe he fell into a shallow end of the acid pool and it only affected everything below the waist.

I think Carol, as a religious woman, kind of took it upon herself to raise and mold her daughters into the Roaring Knight and the Monster girl. Kind of forcing the prophesy into being. I think Dess was raised by Carol to accept her impending death, so when Carol had her killed once she was old and strong enough, she'd fufill her role of the prophecy in the dark world.
I think the Guitar has Dess dusted over and in it, which in the Dark world created the Roaring Knight. And she doesn't want anyone to touch Dess's old room to not stretch Dess's essence too thin or she'll dissapear.
I think a later chapter will deal with Noelle coming to terms with the fact that her sister really is dead and stand up to her mother. Carol thought she was doing the tough but righteous thing to do, but Noelle will make her confront the fact she raised her own first born daughter as a lamb to the slaughter. And the fact that the dark world isn't like, real. Carol will have to confront that she really did it all for nothing.
