I think I figured out the secret to 5 minute for a 3 minute player.
You play the opening and middle game almost like a 3-min game, and then save the extra ~2 minutes to convert the endgame/prosecute the attack correctly instead of flagging the opponent from a better/equal endgame (as usual in 3 min)

Gentlemen, for the bingoleague on sunday, I have a concern. I think this happened last sunday where basically I was getting matched with people while other weavers werent, for example pastabro (1700) never got paired but I got paired with a 1700 and a 1900 twice. Basically felt like I was stealing matches and underperforming, and this will be even more of an issue with 3+0 because I am slowbrained retard. Basically, should I still join or sit it out to avoid stealing matches from my more capable friends? I think in 3+2 and 5+0 I can atleast pretend and maybe sneak in some wins but in terms of 3+0 I am dead weight

More importantly don't get self conscious about your skill level or performance first of all it's meant to be a fun group activity and second only the top performers get counted for the scores so individual performances don't matter that much anyway
eventually as we to higher leagues ( and the novelty wears off) I already know the issue will be not having enough players not too many, so let's be clear anyone that joins these tournaments is doing the entire team a favor no matter his rating or his score

Arenas are tough, yeah. My biggest surprise was that I could barely win games against 2200+ players in blitz when I had no problem with that in the normal pool. 'Zerkinging 18-1900s was always great fun though. The 10 0 'zerk is basically automatic against anyone more than a 100 points weaker.

Depends on time control the longer it is the more you need to actively consider positional elements relative to your level,in classical even a 1500 FIDE would be well served think about that stuff but I don't think many untitled players are sitting there in 3+0 actively thinking about creating light squares weakness or whatever, of course once you have studied and internalized a concept enough you put it in practise on a intuitive level though, you want to train yourself to think about that stuff in longer games where you can afford the time and then eventually you will do it subconsciously in blitz too, at least that's my understanding of it

Below 2000, I think the most important positional concepts are things like not creating holes that will cause problems for you, not unnecessarily creating backward/isolated pawns, and generally trying to prevent your opponent from putting his pieces on strong threatening squares.
As an example, you might want to play a pawn push, but see that it gives the opponent's knight a square to infiltrate your position, so you don't do it without thinking twice.
You can also generally try to avoid giving away free tempi (moving a queen to a square where the opponent can immediately attack it and improve his knight in the process is often not great)
And of course, you should be striving to optimize your pieces, improve your worst-placed piece, and provoke/exploit weaknesses if you can.

I've been playing 3+0 the last few days in preparation for this as a total slowbrain, my main take away is to not get too anxious about the clock and actually think when you need to
at first I was playing every move in 1-2 seconds and making absurd blunders I would never make in 3+2 only to resign with 2 minutes on the clock, once I started taking my time I got a lot better, obviously you don't want to go down more than 30-40 second on the clock compared to your opponent but flagging isn't as omnipresent as I feared and I'd say 60-70% of games are still decided on the board,
Also never ever resign I've seen semi decently rated players blunder mate unprovoked many times, I also had several game where someone won a piece in the opening and lost anyway

lichess has a lot of useful stuff under practice, as for youtubers john bartolomew "chess foundamentals" play list is good, the chesskids channel is good for beginner if you can endure the cringe, chess books aren't the easiest to get into but "play winning chess" is a good entry level one(you can pirate it on anasarchive like most non-obsucure chess books)
for puzzles lichess is fine, chesstempo is better and pirating puzzle book is best, "1001 Chess Exercises for Beginners" is a good starting point again you can find it on the internet quite easily

put the opening you want on the board look at the lichess database under the move percentages there should be the highest rated games in those lines, find strong players the play the line you are interested , the click the player tab,click the little gear button click on the name under player(should be your nick if you never done this) and input the name of the strong player you choose, now you can see what they play in every positon
