Main Story Chapter 4 "Shinjuku" City Story XB Scenario

The whole match basically revolves around exposing that despite multiple Ruriiro’s existing there is slight differences to each one such as eye-shadow, feelings, mannerisms. She keeps denying this and says they think the same or alike. This is to find out who the real Ruriiro is. Turns out it is Rumi who used to work in the Hostess Club with Hikaru, Yayoi, and Hiyori as a Maid.

Akutagawa then walks in pushes Hikaru and others who were nearby grabs Rumi by the neck and then murders her through strangling. Space Lasers activate, and Akutagawa is still standing after taking a hit from it. Everyone is trying to fight Akutagawa but are shoved away including Yo. Yo picks up Sui’s beam bat, and begins to fight DUST aka Akutagawa. Once Yo has won Akutagawa then is zapped and vaporized.

Honestly It's very similar to 100 Line in some ways because in that game the characters ponder if they are the same people after being "repaired" in the revive-o-matic, or if they're completely new clones of the characters with the same memories. At some point characters in that game are repaired from just tissue of their lower half, with the brain being completely destroyed, really thought provoking shit.

Honestly i will say it's a game that is divisive due to its format of how the Game was conceived. After playing Umamusume I can see where this went wrong.

1. The Overworld needed to be more linear and open up exploration after completing the chapter. It was the opposite you needed to do quests even if they were short because of level gating people felt this was long. This was starting to be fixed in Chapter 3 and they were trying to fix it in Chapter 1 and 2
2. Boss fights should have been extremely easy but have the hard boss fights segmented to those who really like hard difficulty. Which they were doing in Chapter 3.
3. The Battle Pass should have been just Card and Currency. Outfits should have been sold separately each month or you can unlock the outfits for the Character if you had enough duplicates of the character through rolling. Which was not incentivized enough.
4. The refund should have never happened.
5. The Store should have sold Level Up tickets for Characters for Stat increases/unlocked abilities aka Ascendant and they were planning to. All that existed was different color outfits and the Limited Outfits if you did not buy them from the Battle Pass and the Stamina, Currency items.
6. Not enough Content or Events out the gate to keep people coming back. This started to become a huge problem because all we had was Tsuruko's event and the extra grind Dungeon to hold everyone over. But it was very minimal which kept people wondering what was going on.

Honestly a lot of this could be fixed, it absolutely felt like they knew how to fix it. Sadly Akatsuki killed it because it underperformed in the investor meeting before they could launch a come back. I do truly hope they salvage this as a Console Game or do a reboot of some kind and redo the format to make it more mobile friendly and incentivize people to keep playing and rolling.

I think they thought they could make tons of money off of it. If I am Akatsuki i would try to get the original core team back finish the game v and sell it for 80$ but have DLC worth 30 to help get people to go into 120$ territory and even more so. There is still ways to monetize the game.

Tsuki was not anywhere in these chapters. Yo only texts Tsuki at the end to ask what he was really like. Tsuruko is nowhere as well. Basically I think the format of putting new characters in your party from a previous adventure makes sense.

What is also interesting in Chapter 5 was how Ueno also lost his memory of Taito Tribe but remembers everything else. The theme of losing a key memory once they die and come back to life is an interesting concept. This makes it interesting when it comes to Yo because this does mean that perhaps he was very powerful at one point and it seems like Zero remembers who Yo always was ever since Chapter 2 and reawakens again in Chapter 5 fully during the match against the Scarecrows.

Rereading the XB Match right now makes it more interesting. Dust wishes to get rid of the Continues and wishes for permanent death. He has been in control of the "Remaining Lives" of this world and wishes to erase Continues and Zero. A life without death to Dust/Akutagawa is meaningless. It "Cheapens" everything.
