Do we think that 2202 is the "DELTA RUNE" code or was it just for that one lock in the church?
It seems kind of contrived to have a completely unrelated 4-digit lock code in a location where you were supposed to be searching for another code, but the game also doesn't really have anyone suggest they might be related and "2202" doesn't have any obvious significance

The shelter was supposed to be like a bomb shelter right?
The name is important, because no one in the game calls it a "bunker" , which are more elaborate, larger and expensive, usually privately owned.
A "shelter" implies it's supposed to be something smaller, short-term and meant for the public. Usually, it's ok for people to just go into a shelter anytime and just fuck around as long as it's not during a disaster.
I'm thinking before a Dark Fountain was opened in the shelter, it was originally a small space that the kids used as a hideout. Kris, Dess, Noelle and Asriel played pretended that the shelter was way bigger than it actually was, because everything is just bigger when you're a small child. They would roleplay the shelter being a secret underground hideout, or a massively sprawling dungeon.
In reality it was one room, but kids have vibrant imaginations.
At some point, Gastery-shenanigans happened and the kids' imaginations became reality via the creation of the first Dark Fountain. Dess disappearance happened and this was how the shelter became a dangerous thing that needed to be locked up.

I had assumed that Kris was basically blind to our perspective in the same way that we can't hear them or see what they see, and that when Ralsei would distract you by asking you to think about something else that was basically giving Kris a break while you temporarily disconnected from them.
But the Chapter 4 scene is different. When you think of Noelle, Kris seemingly gets so stressed that they pass out, and even on the normal route if you think of The Knight they'll distract you by suddenly focusing on Jockingtong instead. This implies that Kris CAN see what you're seeing.
But, this still might be different than the other scenes, since instead of being sent away to follow someone else's perspective we're probably just making Kris imagine things. The Knight wasn't really taking off their helmet at that moment, Kris was just imagining it, which is why they're able to distract us with a silly vision of Jockington and Temmie in a nest full of soccer balls. The scene with Noelle... well, the red dot is Kris focused on the blood dripping from her finger after we pierced her with the thorn, and maybe she said "Thank you" like that before Kris left her.

Can you explain what you think the themes of the game and why Dess Knight would conflict with them?
It seems pretty clear to me after Chapter 3 and 4 that the major thematic conflict of Deltarune is "wanting things to stay the same/go back to how they used to be/'going nowhere'" against the inevitability changing present and unstoppable future. All of the central figures in the story, heroes and villains, are motivated by this in their own way, and The Knight who is creating these fantasy worlds of a retreat into make-believe being December, a "lost girl" with thick as blood connections to the cast who has somehow returned as some shadowy ghost of the past, seems more than appropriate to me.

So I suppose Kris constantly preventing you from learning anything about Asriel throughout the game, as well as conveniently being unable to contact him at any time is all a massive misdirection? Think about it for a minute. Kris goes out of his way to prevent you from seeing Asriel's room in chapter 2, forces you away from seeing who's under the helmet, and won't open the church closet at the end of chapter 4. The Knight and Kris have the same edgelord mannerisms and we know they (Kris and Asriel) did stuff like this constantly from dialogue in chapter 1 (the angel doll, the computer, etc.). Asriel is mentioned far more frequently than December in the entirety of the game. It's not hard to see where this is going.

It isn't a central part of the story (That is, there is no Deus ex machine "legendary weapon") but if Susie is not part of the legend, why are there weapons only she can wield? Noelle can not wield the JusticeAxe. I don't think that thought has any implications lore wise (weaponry in the game is largely tangential) but it is funny to think about that if Noelle is supposed to be part of the prophecy, she would be largely underequipped based on the loot of the worlds the FUCK gang pick up. Unless of course Ralsei's role as a healer is actually supposed to be Noelle's role since in Chapter 4 Ralsei says that he knows which equipment she can wear (Bows?).

As an aside, after you beat Gerson in the secret boss fight he remains facing the stand where the JusticeAxe laid and if you talked to him he just remains silent. I'm probably just looking at things that aren't there but it almost feels like Gerson is nostalgic.

Well Carol is obviously working with Kris, and the Knight is also working with Kris.
The Knight has access to the code for the Bunker, and as the mayor, she definitely has access to at least part of it. She could probably get more if she really wanted without arousing any suspicion.
As for Dess, she went missing. It's implied she has some connection to the darkness. She was family friends with Kris long before the Dark worlds started appearing, so it's not too much of a stretch to think that they'd work together even in those circumstances.

My big question is Who would be strong enough to successfully carry a struggling Undyne in the light world while still going fast enough to outrun Kris and Susie, and still have time to use the code to get into the bunker.
Also remember that if this is someone Undyne would recognize, then the plan is do or die. Either you keep her there until the roaring, or she escapes, and the jig is up.
