The only people I've seen major yelling about TWW are from the story crowd. Not exactly unjustified, the way they botched Trollbane is OBJECTIVELY bad, but still, in the gameplay department, it managed to deliver well, I've heard plenty of praise for delves in particular. The majority of the player base can look past that shit and relatively enjoy the gameplay.

Shadowlands did not fuck up its story alone. It also managed to bungle literally all of its other components. It was multiple horrendous things making the rest stand out even more and make the perception of them even more palpable. No person was safe from the badness of this expansion which in turn led to the unified exodus.

This is more of a broad artstyle shift. They used to make a lot of creatures or even humanoids have opaque/glowing eyes that rendered them more alien and threatening. Tons of wildlife had this design element and obviously there's the elves, draenei, etc. After BfA they started suddenly designing much more cartoony/normal eyes for their models and it's resulted in them looking goofy and non-threatening.
These things from SL are one of the best examples, they look like Wildstar models but just changing the eyes alone would be a vast improvement
