She's not just an asimar, she's a demigod/exarch. So she probably doesn't follow the same rules as other paladins. Her powers probably come directly from mommy so she wouldn't be cut off from them in the same way a normal paladin would be. She just has a little feeling that is reminiscent of what we feel when we break out oaths, because she went Hulkamania on Lorroakan, but not enough to lose her god-given powers.

It's kind of an odd scene to begin with, since going Hulkamania on someone isn't an oathbreaking action for most oaths. But this wouldn't be the first conflict Larian had with how paladins work, so it's whatever.

Those being said, the game agrees that her going Hulkamania on Lorroakan was slightly above what was prudent, so she had a fleeting moment of "maybe that was fucked up", but it was not enough for her to lose her god-given powers directly from mommy. Which makes sense. She felt a fleeting bit of what we feel when we break our oaths, but since she's a demigod who gets powers directly from mommy, she didn't actually fully break her oath, it was just a fleeting feeling. Everything checks out and makes sense.

No, but the playerbase does. They want to play the LG female Paladin who "fixes" the unfixable and evil vampire spawn, even if it makes no sense. And Larian catered to them from the start, so there was never some mystical "vision" that was later compromised by caving to player feedback. BG3 has always been normalfag-friendly, for better or worse. It's easy to pick up even if you know nothing about D&D, it's forgiving and even encourages savescumming, and you never have to worry about party tension, or the idea that good-aligned companions might object to Astarion's presence.
