Yes, he's in the spot where you fought Beelzebub. His quest doesn't activate until you trigger the boss fight, it just exists for tracking purposes.

Also make sure to save your clear file after defeating Super Lucifer in a seperate spot and Reload the game. The actual Super Boss of Vengeance route is Satan (who is harder than Demifiend). He only unlocks when you have a game clear file so I'd go Shiva->True Lucifer->Satan/Demifiend

I never played the original Raidou, only Raidou 2 (couldn't find Raidou 1 in the store so I just started with 2). Playing remake, on the final dungeon and I have to say, I always heard 1 had the better story. That's bullshit, 2 is way better story wise and actually feels like an occult mystery game.

While Remaster didn't change the story TOO much I still found the time traveling shenanigans to be great with the SMT1 and 2 references sprinkled in the OG's Corridor. The remaster kinda makes it meh and whatever with it's references to V, the confirmation of this loose continuity/multiverse with I and II is what made Raidou 1's story cooler to me, even if 2 in places is much better story-wise.

I beat V, now beating VV and I don't think I'll replay it again, when normally that wasn't an issue for me and I have a few runs of IV, Nocturne and SJ but these I found interesting in one way or the other. I have nothing really to complain about in V:V (beisdes the UI) and the gameplay is good, but even then walking around the desert for another million hours would feel like a chore. Nocturne's desert seemed much more unique and felt less copy-pasted, even if some areas in V were really cool. Once I'm done with it I'm likely going to forgot and give 0 more fucks about it as well and I'm not surprised someone might feel like that way towards V or VV. Best I could describe the games as would be good but bland.

Crippling Blow + Yabasume Shot (late game essences) = dead Mitamas; stack with Loa (Taboo Innate) for better odds. Theoretically luck incenses too but those are hard to come buy in a normal playthrough.

The floor is Mortal Jihad with increased crit rate because you have 3 hits and if you want to explore Omagatoki:Dance (multi-hits deal max # of hits, even on single target) it's still pretty strong until late game (only outclassed by Madness Nails/Rampage (if it lands) during Dance).

Something to also remember is that mitama spawns are fixed, depending on how you are with exploration/side quests and gaming sessions but you might've noticed this in Minato with the one rail area that spawns Peallaidhs.

That's not a controversial statement either. Vanilla V is mechanically complete, it has a cut plot thread and some backstory is relegated to NPC dialogue. IV uses half it's script, none of the mechanics work correctly, none of the demons and bosses are properly stat'd, the game abruptly ends and sells the final boss Masakados as DLC, etc.

VV is still V. IVA is an entirely seperate game.

Not having a proper snake antagonist and cutting Yoko was because they didn't know how to fit her in and the snake in the story anymore after the rewrites. Anyway, the best way to grind is doing multi-battles then using the Genma Magatsuhi skill on the final turn. The AI rematches is great for this too.

The reasons for V seeming blatantly unfinished to people such as myself are

>the temple of eternity evokes lost izalith with the "beta draft" vibes and the way the demons are sorta just copy pasted in lines throughout (honestly, INSANELY surprised VV did not overhaul this dungeon, I would have bet money they would have with how shit the original draft was)
>the general sloppiness of several plotpoints like khonsus questline and its lack of connection to yuzuru despite the obvious connection that should be there (not helped by the fact in vanilla hes quite possibly the most lacking alignment rep in the series, a veritable plank of wood with glasses), the lack of elaboration on tao, the random amanozako possession near the end that goes unexplained etc
The devs can yap all they want that it was a totally finished game, but I played the game at launch and have never felt more like I was punked and paid for a beta release from atlus, and I'm not close to alone in thinking this in the slightest. Despite playing on hard my party is good enough to destroy pretty much anything my level and a bit above, only lvl 74 Nahobino and beat Mephisto lvl 79 just now. He has the worst modifier on getting items in his pool which has the inverse affect of making him the most likely to get into ambushes (and from there extra encounters to farm EXP multipliers). Note if you don't have him, Mara in theory should also work since he's also tied with the worst modifiers but has a better pool of items and that you can't bring a navigator to the Temple of Empyrean so all of this is in Taito or Egypt Bridge in Minato.

If you can manage challenge mode level 100 fights (Atlus totally knows how to do NG+ and the bosses don't just have the same moves as before, like Nuwa having Mazio), it could be a good place to get EXP just note that normal mode will be as you fought them in the story (and if you didn't fight them, still do it once anyways because you get balms for the first time you complete each consecutive fight, free stats for the beano).

When you select a fight, you'll have an option for normal (as you fought in story, free balms if completed for the first time) or challenge mode (starts at level 100 but each win raises level by 100, where you find level 999 enemies if you want for Godborn). Normal battles are 1v1s, mostly for the fights the researchers give you outside (SMTV and VV dlcs, Dagda/Cleopatra/etc.), while Consecutive battles are pitting you in a boss rush.

Will warn that you can't stack it with Omnipotent Succession if you are relying on it.

Most likely the reason I got rid of it and I just forgot, huh. I stopped playing a while ago and just started playing my Taito save again. Omnipotent succession is goated, and It's pretty much my crutch. I wasted a lot of balms but yeah, I kind of figured on Hard all of the stats except Magic would be useful to me. The luck really helps, with Glees I crit very often.

I get the impression the population of the general has changed enough with the onset of recent releases to say the majority probably weren't here when we did those old playthroughs, and I certainly think a decent portion of people in here haven't played anything pre nocturne.
The autist in me thinks we should start with NES MT1 and go through all (translated) titles in release order, but I have a feeling the events would be DOA due to the admittedly lesser star power of pre shin megaten and archaisms of the game. SMT1 being a bit newer, mainline, and even having the updated QOL PSX version makes it a much safer option.

I think it was a shortsighted way of balancing phys skills costing MP. Most phys focused demons have higher str at the cost of lower MP pools so they'll be slightly less useless than magic demons after running out of fun juice. Turns out the macguffin was the missing piece needed to get into Hecate's secret lair, and a statue I found ages ago allowed us to see through her second layer of defensive illusions.
