you should only worry about class changes after you're lvl60 and cleared all main content

Luck increases chance of activating skills. Fighters have skills like followup and counterattack that luck affect. So in a sense, boosting luck will increase damage more than boosting STR.
Thieves want IQ to detect traps. If they are retarded they won't detect the traps. DEX makes it easier to disarm the trap.

all characters can change into 1 other class that's predetermined, you just have to find their class change in the weekly shop

I haven’t been grinding since it’s too hot.

So I got Rinne when I reinstalled a couple weeks back but have not made any progress since reinstalling. Just got Shiou. I also got Abenius before I uninstalled. I have multiple copies of all of the standards, as well.

People here were saying advanced classes are a pain in the ass to level up. Most of my dudes are only level 20 or 30.

Who should I focus on here? I haven't even gotten the true ending from the first dungeon...

Dude, ignore the retards dogpiling you with boon autism, all you need to do is not use the Discipline or Inherit systems before you understand everything in the game (ie. much much later after clearing a couple abysses) and you won't lose anything or FOMO. You can just build a booned version of whoever you like much later as long as you don't waste Disciplines and Inherits on them beforehand, which you never need to do to beat anything except optional endgame shit.

The only advice for new players should be thus:
-Reroll for 2 out of 3: Yeka/Alice/Lana
-Roll Neutral if you want to be eligible for most row/column buffs from other characters (there's probably a guide on fasterthoughts)
-Don't rez at the Church below 50 Fort
-Don't use Discipline or Inherit until you've played the game a long time and understand everything
There, now you can play however you want with whoever you want at your own pace and have fun, and compartmentalize the autistic parts for later, at no cost.

If I like a character I just put them in my party. They're usually holding their own at 25-30 and actually more than useable at 35+. Only Eva really matters anyways while you're farming and you get that from gear. I had a lvl 45 Mage alice an lvl 34 Rinne in my party when I fell the guarda gwo

What do you think about inheriting survival passives like Sanctuary's blessing and Way of the knight to Samurais ? I'm kinda tempted to do it since they tend to draw hits but on the other hand they already have built-in survival, maybe it's best to prioritize squishier classes

As other posters have noted the lack of a class change and no bonus passive means they'd need further investment to diversify their skill set. You need a lot more copies to get to D9, and the stat growth from each discipline level is not as high as the jumps that legendaries get at lower levels.
That being said, they can give you certain class-element combinations that can help a lot with certain bosses or content (excluding the MC who can be anything, of course). For example there are no other Water Fighters aside from Livana or class-changing Flut. I quit in December as well and came back a few days before Livana's banner ended, so around a month ago? .Have been having fun with all the caves and the third abyss being quite the difficulty jump. The first hours were rough until I got some expulsion weapons going. Can easily run the third abyss now but the perfect ending difficulty still feels very rough and i did grind quite a lot for all of this. The third abyss adds a few gimmick and the story barely throws you a few lines by the end about the Abyss Lord.

It's not a point against Iarumas as much as it's a point for Shiou. She deals big damage just like fighters for no additional investment.
So when you are fighting a boss, you deal multiple Tzaliks worth of damage in one turn with her unique, then you fall back on the rest of her good kit without the need of mana pots.
You aren't using her taunt if you're fighting normal mobs anyway.

Barely, if ninja katana was good you could just ignore the passive because it's within rng of equipment rolls
There are multiple game design issues with ninjas, like getting 7 hit(3+3+1)[5 hit if f2poor] is much better than 1 hit due to how damage calculates, and it's x7 more chance to proc instakill. Ninjas have legit only 1.5 good skills, dissipation and sometimes voice theft, that for some reason is turn-based debuff though, but has high application chance and seems to have different formula from usual (mag-res)%

Armor Pierce is pretty equivalent to HA, but beyond that Ninjas run into the same issue thieves do of low soft caps and no easy way to level their main skills to compensate.

Do mages deal more damage with spells their element even if the enemy isn't weak to it, or does it just end up doing even more bonus damage if they are?
