Dude they’re complaining because the Tekken FGC has gone VERY toxic. It began when S2 was launched and people had a huge OVERREACTION. People jumped the gun, and immediately said S2 new moves were overpowered, ruining character identity, and defense was dead. But after EVO, and now numerous tournament results, defense is FAR from dead it’s actually what’s separating elite players from the pack. And none of the new moves have materially changes the game or characters. Now there was some outlier moves but literally they got patched in 7 days. The S2 overreaction then ignited when, that content creators were making money dooming about the game because it was getting so many clicks, making money dooming. Content creators also suffer from what’s called “audience capture”, that is you’re to a degree, have to agree with the audience sentiment, even if it’s wrong sentiment, or the audience will tune you out. And the audience will not think your view is valid, or call you a shill even if you have legitimate reasons for why the game is VASTLY, 99% good. The audience’s ran with the incorrect notion that Tekken was dead, defense was dead, and new moves ruined the game so the content creators gave the audience what it wanted: DOOMING. It destroyed a significant part of the community. The reality from tournament results proves the initial worries were abjectly wrong! But FGC has its “feelings” and instead of looking at the data, players have leaned into the false narrative. Now that the summer update is a lull in content (as most summer updates are lulls in content) people have this negativity from the initial S2 launch and carrying that toxicity into the summer update. Almost like a S2 overreaction hangover. It sad really the community has no institutional knowledge per se, and has little to none immunity to bad content creator dooming attitude. The game is fine, watch the tournament play, it’s obviously competitive

Sure it has throw loops, but they removed them in SFV, must be some sort of oversight they're fixing soon. There was definitely a lot of negativity around Project L after Tokon's announcement. But I would say most of it was around how slow the game's development was, not necessarily about anything else.

I wouldnt bet on it but I can still see maybe both games co-existing

2XKO's biggest appeal was among the FGC crowd clamoring for a new tag fighter after Marvel 3 and DBFZ, and barely any hype from the LoL fanbase itself. with the sudden appearance of new tag fighters like HxH, Tokon, and Invincible, all of which play closer to Marvel and DBFZ, there's no more of the same appeal for 2XKO which is also notable/notorious for all the new shit its trying
