Did anyone else "retire"? I modded in about $400m, bought everything I wanted, and then couldn't find a reason for playing anymore. Stopped playing about four years ago.
I just picked GTAO back up about three weeks ago and I've had more fun being a griefer and just ignoring grind missions and ignoring money. There's nothing I want to buy, there's nothing I need. I've been having a lot of fun just spamming my Deluxo, Wampa, or Oppressor 2 and just randomly obliterating people and then getting into standoffs. Way more entertaining than grinding work or attempting heists. Anyone else done this yet?

Since the Money Laundering DLC is about maintaining the facade of a legit biz, how should we fix the biker business in VI? I thought about illegitimate ventures having a bribe system to pay a dirty cop so you can skip forced raids, when the timers hit after 5.7 hours. Had multiple raids today due to selling as MC and all hit the threshold after months in one session.

I played RDO as coop on PC with a friend. It feels all griefers migrated to it after GTA locked dow the game with battleye. So unless you are on console or use (potentially risky) mods to achieve private lobbies in a game where R* didn't want us to have invite only lobbies, then hard luck. RDO is best played on console with no cheaters or not at all. Only anti cheat could save it.

Just let me pay a premium(say 5k to 20k depending on which) or something to get a mission that gets you a vehicle with a particular amount of supplies.
I even think post-ops could have been salvaged, but make them the "covert" sell option, letting you fully stay off the radar but naturally being more exposed if someone catches on.

Makes sense, but payouts are not split evenly. The only way to make it fair would be to split and that you produce at 4 times the speed if you have 4 people produce together.

My dream would be rather you have NPCs fly the planes, in air is little traffic. You fly behind them in a fighter jet and defend them.

Oh, I'm not thinking paysplits(that's another issue), but rather that picking a delivery mission with multiple vehicles pay more with some reasoning of serving multiple clients with dedicated deliveries.
So when sell stock you get a menu with something like

In the open is no delay on global signal, guaranteed NPC spawns and maybe even an announced extra bonus for enemy players. Maybe even make it able to be stolen.

To elaborate, one thing I feel very underutilized is how some goods are in grater amounts, like we see in the nightclub warehouse. So weapon sales might needs bigger vehicles to shoulder the size, while meth could easily be packed on a bagger, since right now you can do equally complicated and large sales for a shipment of paperwork as you do for a simple absurd amount of weed.
What I'm saying is that the document office payouts would be fine if my sale vehicle was just a single SUV with some office supplies in the back.

I did end up buying the mafia bundle, first game holds up pretty well with the new coat of paint, I guess the strong part of Mafia 1 was the story so I shouldn't be surprised...
I haven't played 2 story yet, but I did play both of the DLC, they're kinda terrible, missions are all just text dumps into generic "go here and kill these guys or steal a car and drive to a mission end point"
One mission in particular that stood out was the "supermarket heist" which you go to a supermarket to start the mission you get this awful text box about "women be shoppin haha" and then as soon as you click "start mission" you're instantly inside the supermarket getting shot by cops, no breaking in, no nothing, just straight up raw dogging that supermarket.
Anyway, I never did play these DLCs and there's achievements for them so I was playing exclusively because of that.
Joe's DLC has playboy collectables and they're all naked in incredibly unsexy poses, I can't believe I wasted half an hour to collect them, not a single bunnysuit in sight, fucking worthless.

For a long time I thought this on console until I learned that players are grouped into different sessions based on aim settings, and I had changed my setting to free aim at one point. When I switched back to the default aim setting (partial aim assist if I remember right) they were once again populated as ever. I learned that there are different perks to the different settings, certain kinds of players tend to flock to one or another. I don't KNOW for sure that this is your problem but it's worth considering. If you join someone with a different aim setting or somehow end of in a session with one, it will automatically change your aim setting (not including deadzones, sensitivity, or aim accelerations settings, to be clear, those are independant and won't change the servers you end up in so don't worry about them), so it could have happened without you even knowing.

The game kind of inadvertantly disincentivizes co-op play, by virtue of the fact of co-operation being a problem with lack of communication (leading to wasted time) in heists, and in the case of other missions (take the Guzman heist) being a fraction of what the host makes (50,000 I think) despite that being a pay you could make solo a lot faster with a payphone hit (even in it's nerfed state), or a spare gun parts bunker sale, or a security contract, etc.

Rockstar does not know how you balance their game. If you got 180-200k for being a guest on the Guzman heist or something like that, more would probably join it because it would then have value in the greater context of things, but as it stands, if you care about making money at all (as the game abundantly incentivises by balancing everything about online around it) then it's not worth doing. That's also one of my main criticsims about this game.

Unfortunately I don't think they have. There was this bug I reported to them a while ago where I couldn't enter my acid lab when an organization event (for example, stand your ground) was going. They investigates and escalated my ticket to the level of "proper review" or something along the lines of that (that's what they do when they can see there's a real bug problem), it gets marked as resolved, then an update later I run into it again.

There's also a whole new issue I've had for months where Mutt seems to take a LOT longer to get acid supplies when I pay for it, it almost seems like it bugs the session I purchase it in, such that it doesn't activate whatever timer is supposed to go. The trick is learning which are the "rich woman" bounties is since they can only send you to the mansions in the city, which is a small drive if you're in the del perro or downtonwn vinewood location, so then you can get them done in like 5 minutes at which point the pay is alright.
Basically all other standard bounties are liable to be massive wastes of time, having at least one variation that sends you to paleto bay.

I can play GTA 4 single player in 2025 and still enjoy myself and while it feels dated, it's not too jarring.

I can't play any GTA older than that without having to put on nostalgia blinders first and play it with a big dose of context and patience. It's somewhat fun if you can harken back to your memories playing it when it first came out, but they're just not particularly good games to play outside of that setting and I wouldn't enjoy trying just to sit down randomly and playing the older games.

I do not feel this way. about the only genuinely fucky thing about the older GTAs to me is the shooting mechanics (L1/Circle for shoot is silly) but honestly I'm kinda sick of modern games all having the same control scheme so it's nice to play with something different. Maybe it's because of the thousands of hours I put into the PS2 games, but I honestly prefer using face buttons for stuff like sprinting and jumping; I still haven't fully adapted to modern games using stuff like the triggers or toggles for that stuff even though it's been the norm for 15+ years. playing San Andreas is like slipping my hand into a well-worn baseball mitt.
