The issue with P5X is that it's going to require a complete shift in mindset from the publisher, which, if you know JP publishers, and especially SEGA, is just an extremely rare thing to occur.
Every single aspect of our version that had anything to do with the amount of currency we obtain was changed significantly for the worse, with the one exception being that we received a patch specific log in event sooner than CN did. Everything else has been crippled in some way or another.
Every little change they've done this way was specifically to get people to spend more as soon as possible and backload gems in the hopes we're either not playing, or they can abandon ship. Likely because they just assumed CN was as successful as it was ever going to be and JP/Global couldn't possibly bring in much longevity.

The "flashy and overwhelming" UI works in P5 because the menus are actually very simple in function. There's a lot of visual noise, but it doesn't really matter because all the relevant info is easily accessible.
P5X is flashy, and every menu has like 3 submenus, but because there's so much noise they're hidden in plain sight. It all ends up being cumbersome and difficult to navigate. They should have gone with a different style, like always having the phone at the side containing all submenu functions clearly visible in one place and having the main screen the same P5 flashy style.
