The blood pools one is very nice because each severed body part makes their own little pool so the aftermath is very bloody, the splatters are a nice extra, both last 10 minutes so you can admire your carnage. Last time i played the game when phantom liberty relased, so i have a questions for those of you that are up to date with modding.

Is there any mod for realistic armour? OG had ridiculous bulletproof tshirts and tissue paper tactical vests, with armour values completely unrelated to what the item was. Post patch with new armour system , almost every item of clothing became purely cosmetic.

So is there any immersive mod that revamps the clothing protective values? So that tshirts and sweatpants offer no protection, but heavy kevlar lined coat actually protects your ass at least a little, while proper military grade helmets and armour drastically increase your chances of surviving?

Thanks, choom. Good to know the carnage is hitting the artistic sweet spot. I think I was getting around 40 fps with some stutter here and there due to postprocessing but I think I see the clouds a lot better now.

It all depends on what you are using, Cool and Reflex have good synergy with blades and pistols. Pretty much the go to for most. The initial perks from Body are good enough if all you want is regen. Tech and Body have also good synergy because of all the mitigation and cyberware you equip.

in my experience building for body weapons is tricky since they require you to be close up and running from target to target. the lack of stamina becomes an issue. then when you are close range either your damage or your survivability will become a problem. Survivability is fixed with Cyberware/Tech investment, but the best defense is killing everyone faster than they can hurt you. So now that you have stamina and gap closing fixed with reflex, time for Body.

is this what you are actually saying? that you think i believe the only way the player feels immersed and engaged in a game is when there are believable restrictions placed upon them and in some instance increased restrictions to allow story tellers more control over the events critical to how they desire their story to unfold? i wouldnt want to stop someone from suspending disbelief, id want them in the moment.

I dont think anything is mandatory, but id let that decision go to whoever is designing the mission if they feel its important to how the story is told. My usual criticism of players that have an issue with control being taken away from them is that they seem more lost in their emotional frustration and simply want a new vegas style insta win dialogue skill check bullshit to avoid feeling anything at all. Or it revolves around wanting random throw away quests needing infinite branching paths so they can avoid the one path that upsets them. While ignoring the time and effort it would take to setup and produce assets for, then produce every other mission with similar quality. the game would never get done. So i dont see a problem with taking a development shortcut, removing some control from the player and forcing a situation to happen, if thats what must be done to get to the point.
But with those players they are so caught up in being emotionally distraught that someone got to play with their toys that any message being imparted to the player is lost on them. so maybe those players in particular are irrelevant, their desires should be ignored.

The design of the majority of gigs also discourages long distance shooting, and the fact that every bullet type that isnt smart rockets are hitscan makes sniping feel very lackluster.

Probably foolish to expect anything deep, but a basic bullet drop mechanic and some more open sightlines in a few missions would do some good.

The grand, overwatch and O'five used to be able to shoot through walls, they are AT rifles after all and that ability was removed for whatever reason, there's a mod that restores it I believe, but not a lot of scenarios where you'd find a sniper useful. i can think of maybe one time in my entire playthrough where I used it at range.

like i said earlier, we can freeze time and cripple a city block in a blink. there is no way to stop V other than to create a bullet sponge like Vasquez or Max Tac, or mess with the players expectations.
I can think of tons of other ways to kill Bill, but some of the charm of that mission is that its trying to put you in an uncomfortable uncertain position where being a murder hobo might not feel like the right option.

Bill hired you to kill Joshua, he tells you before the chase that he doesnt want anyone else to die. We chase a truck that doesnt want to fight back. When the chase ends and youre already out of the truck Bill frees V of the responsibility of making the kill, he wants to do it himself. Now you basically have no part in this, its no longer your fight. Vasquez, who we are not expected to harm, clearly takes a defensive posture and gives Bill plenty of time to put the gun away before killing him. Then immediately Joshua puts an end to the hostility and potential harm to V.
The Client is dead and you are now alone with no cover on a blocked off road (vulnerable) with a murderer, a cop, and a corpo out for blood. then he invites V to their drive along and to be his executioner. Joshua dead, unexpected methods, mission complete.
