I am one of those LSTC lunatics who had to install the VP9 codecs/fishy scritps in order to run the Steam client. But now I have to open the game several times because it crashes when it tries to load the announcements/discord screen. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Went to actually play the game so no idea if you're still around.
As a reply said, 38 should be more than high enough to beat him. If you can't then there are a fair few youtube videos covering how to (and usually using worse units than are available these days), or maybe your gear / skill levels are an issue. Investing in them isn't a waste of materials if it lets you progress further, even if the character isn't "meta", you can't spend much that matters at this point, just be wary about anything gold / purple.

I don't think there are any recap events that will be a bad idea to do due to spoilers, most of the archived ones are either pre-VF or don't really play into it. Some of VF might even be more enjoyable once you get to it if you've done the recaps since some of them introduced characters like Izuna and the ninja club, the first Izuna event wasn't archived when I started playing and I played through Unconcealed Heart without that background and just had Izuna acting strangely familiar, which sucked - but the main story has a payoff for Unconcealed Heart etc
"Wait it out" I just meant get a few more levels from daily energy spending. If you're 38 already then that shouldn't really be needed though.

It's technically better to do bonuses first since you might either 3* it WITH a bonus team (thus saving you 1 clears energy), or at the very least lock in the bonuses for the 3* team (thus gaining a minor % more resources).
It's REALLY pitiful gains though and frankly less bother to just run your strongest teams first and then sort out the bonuses later, especially if you're new since there's less chance of plowing it with a bonus team.
Bonuses also obviously only matter on maps you intend to sweep, so if you can get past the first bracket of missions then you don't need to do those with a bonus team anyway.

As someone who did Valentines before in this game; I'm surprised that for one of the most self insert games I've read with you literally sleeping with several students in their momotalks, a lot of the valentines scenes really feel like they kinda suck. It feels like way too many of them were written too early on into the game when they didn't know how close students should be to sensei. And they shot themselves in the foot not giving different valentines scenes for alt versions of characters, if they had given different scenes for alts, I think we would have seen character progression over time with better characterization.

The only one I remember being overtly romantic was Ui's, for some reason.

Stories are about cohesion, cohesion of plot or characters, which is why focusing on Hina in volume 1 Ch3 in a story about the bonds of Abydos felt so out of place, there was no cohesion with the overall story, Hina shouldn't have been the one chosen there. Even Shiroko terror would have made more thematic sense

In the same vein focusing heavily on Hina in a Trinity storyline, to the point of over focusing on her over any trinity student, any time Hina is on screen the story must focus on her and give her all the moments, ends up subtracting from the overall cohesion of the story which should focus primarily on trinity.
