It would be good if portal and rune didn't exist because they don't give a single fuck about wards. Like the only reason why ward haven has a chance to be a thing is because the wards have the potential to survive turn 7 into turn 8 Jeanne. Even that isn't guarantee based on who is going first and Rune is just going to start mulliganing for William so he hits your board for 30

At this point, the best type of cards to salvage Abyss would be a bunch of followers with text like "when this follower enters the field, if it has the departed trait, give it XYZ buffs" and a few more reanimators. It would allow you to run 1-drops in a deck with Cerberus, it would give extra value to Charon, etc.

You retards don't understand the first thing about card games. The sole reason shit like aggro sword had to come into existence was rune. A deck that puts a hard clock on you prevents you from playing any other type of game. Sword would much rather not auto lose to portal and play value cards like Amalia and Amelia, and Luminous Mage, but those are just too slow against rune. The reason rune is shit now, because every deck is either aggro or combo due to rune making it impossible to play anything else. This also applies to Forest by the way, they get away with being combo niggers with a hard clock too much and never get called out. The meta was slow back when portal was thought to be the best deck, because portal is incapable of ever killing you from hand in 1 turn if you have 15 hp or more, even if your board is empty. The same applies to sword, haven, and abyss. Only the 2 dishonest combo niggers put a hard clock on you killing you from hand regardless of board and hp totals. Combo decks should never, ever be good in card games. They should be memes that lose 75% of the time.

Assuming this strike happens when going face, this is like a cheaper but more conditional Odin which is really good for aggressive builds. The ward build is looking more preferable now though, and they wouldn't run this.
If they print another bird amulet or something the storm build could still be really relevant and this definitely would be played there (and would likely replace Ronavero).
