That guy has +60% damage just from the bottom right, with an extra +15% damage to armored enemies, +10% from LW, +15% on dodge, around a 20% crit chance and a permanent +20% attack speed. More damage than this is the definition of overkill. You want to invest into utility.

I don't. Getting perks off of characters won't fix it. The characters will continue to be intolerable regardless. The skill they want you to master is quickly entering a sprint in the opposite direction of enemies, sliding, and then turning to fire again. The entire movement system of the game was baked up for that interaction and nothing else. It's extremely gay.

I honestly don't see this game being anymore than a 6/10,even after years of updates. I enjoyed it to an extent, but it's souless and bland. Covering Fire is good, but not good enough to go out of your way for (which it is for most builds). It's nice not having to worry about stealing a teammate's toughness gain when shooting into melee, and funny if you have two veterans running it with full auto builds and just mow things down as you feed each other toughness and damage boost.

There is an aggro system, yes. It's most visible when fighting bosses as it determines who they're attacking, which is why you'll sometimes see the boss suddenly turn around mid-combo; if the first person it was targeting was just dodging or blocking while a teammate was attacking, the attacker's threat level increases and the defender's level decreases. I'm not positive on exactly how this translates over to smaller unit aggro, but I'm sure it plays a role.

Nobody who actually plays H40 doesn't agree that the pure randomness and how some missions are inexplicably easy as fuck/hard as balls isn't really fucking stupid. I've come across constellations in missions that felt genuinely unbeatable, and then I've come across entire missions that are just fucking nothing hard, ever

I play h40 semi-regularly and while I agree that there's a lot of randomness, I don't agree that missions can be outright unbeatable. Even the hardest bullshit like 2 regen/resist modifiers, spawning multiple bosses in Clandestium section 1-2 or Smelter Complex section 1-1.5 (upstairs/downstairs, and then if you're cornered into taking the drop on the right) are beatable with the right team composition. Most of my losses in such situations were down to people running meme setups, incorrect class composition, or otherwise preventable individual fuck-ups. If I play a serious build, I generally win more 40s than I lose, and I only play with randos and don't usually bother hosting. If I play with people I know, we almost always win.
Bullshit constellations are mostly unbeatable if you bring meme builds and a nonsensical team composition, but you always know beforehand when you're about to play a hard map with cancerous modifiers, and can pick your team accordingly.

Are there any other builds as good as Shout-Veteran for babysitting your group? Shout + Plasmagun feels like it can handle any situation and you always have grenades on hand for some CC. I currently don't run Field-improvisation due to people just snatching the Crate/Pack even if I tell them, But is it worth picking anyways for when I do get them?

I also tried out a Hot-shot recon build just for fun, and it's actually pretty fun I must admit. I really hope Veteran get's some much needed love at some point in the future.

Depends on what kind of babysitting you mean. If you want to just be a good team player, I'd suggest you don't bother because most randos are fucking retarded. If you are playing with friends, it depends on how adamant they are about running meme builds and wasting ammo. Ammo aura is pretty invaluable, especially when turning around to grab an ammo pickup is completely unfathomable to the players you're supporting.

Psyker can be hard to get non-melee damage on in many cases. Any flavor of infernus lasgun/pistol or puncture bolter/pistol handles ranged damage and bosses pretty well on classes that have access to it. Armor is handled relatively well with many melee options. A lot of the time your best bet for babysitting is to kill the things that are about to kill your retards before that can happen.

I like it for totally fire shot unrelated reasons though, it's just a good gun. Slap scattershot and flechettes on it and it's pretty fun to use for all purposes. Couple with an uncanny wep to make it competent at btfoing armor, but that's optional if you want to make it perform hard

In general, Agripinaa. Can headshot gunners and specials at mid-range with its standard shot, and long range with the special shot. Plus all the mild perks of being a shotgun.
For fun, Zarona.
Combined with a Marksman's Focus vet, it gets a little more effective range for headshotting gunners/specials with its standard shot, and the special shot gets better room general clearing, cleaving the heads off dreg/scab melee and putting an acceptable hurt on gunners/shotgunners.

Played kf3 a lot today. I would say I didn't really like it very much, which I'm sad about since I played the other two KF games a lot.

I don't like that classes are now a character rather than you picking whatever skin you want then selecting whatever perk you want in the previous game. It's the same mistake battlefield made, hero shooter class system only works if you're an actual hero shooter where you need to instantly identify an enemy character by profile. In a coop game it's not important so don't do it.

I also didn't like the humor. The first two games had some silly humor but it was just silly and didn't feel stupid. In this game you had people unironically saying "down with the military industrial complex!!" during the match when they killed an enemy or whatever. It's like they saw that there was some silly humor in the previous games and wanted to recreate that, but they're cringe now.

I also wasn't any more engaged while playing than the previous games. It felt like mostly the same, except with the above negative aspects, so what's the point. I know they said they have more intractable environment objects but I only actually used a handful of them. If the game feels the same but with new negative aspects, then literally what's the point.

The music was still good at least, and they put some effort into weapon inspections and animations and such, so it's not all bad, but at this point I don't think I would get it, and that's coming from someone who has hundreds of hours in the franchise and expected to like it.

I am. I already went back to darktide and had more fun than I had in kf3. I'm leveling an arbites right now.

I'm more just disappointed with kf3 since I did like the first two. A lot of my complaints are things that are fixable though, so I'm not writing it off completley. They could easily divorce perks from characters, and they could easily add more unique gameplay elements over time.

You're not wrong. KF would've needed to evolve to compete with other games as the genre evolved. I just don't personally believe that it needed Apex movement and ZEDs with wrist-mounted lasers. I think they should've invested in replicating Saber Interactive's massive hordes within their engine, and a Forge suite, so they could add overwhelming hordes and native community map support to their list of selling points. Apex Movement, one whack ass ability per hero, and zombies with wrist-rockets weren't exactly high on my KF3 features wishlist. I was leveling too recently and quickplay loved to put me in DLC missions. Snow area, castle levels, treachery, Omens and others. Many of them are longer, have mechanics or paths you need to know, plus books are harder to find on top of that. All this led to many failures. I'd recommend making your own lobby and spamming base game missions, they are mostly shorter and simpler. And don't pick up grims, it's not worth it unless you know for sure team can handle it.
One anon from here suggested doing Chaos Wastes for fast leveling. It seems to be good, but if your teammates love to explore every corner, like it was a case for me, it takes just as long as regular missions.
But over all yeah, leveling and lootbox items make progression a frustrating slog.

Laspistol is a supreme carrying tool. Pair it with relic blade and you're set for literally everything.
Honorable mention to the boltpistol--doesn't have enough ammo to let you casually run and gun against small fries like the laspistol does, but enables you to pick a melee without CRUSHER-killing power.
Bolter is fun too, so long as you're running throwing knives for the animation cancel tech.

Even before the ogryn rework he was 100% right about ogryn. Like ogryn having like 3 good weapons, pickaxe, shield and kickback and ogryn only had like 1 build worth while and rest were shit.
And he was also right about the rework, the rework didn't really address the major issues for ogryn, it just made him very overpowered.
The fundamental ogryn issues that still persist to an extent, are his dodges and sliding, where ogryn has proportionally small dodges compared to his hitbox but also the fact that you don't get as many i-frames or linger with ogryn when sliding or dodging when compared to human classes.
Another big issue he has is that ogryn's sprint is just fucking abysmal, and most of ogryn weapons could safely be given better sprint modifiers so you don't feel like an asthamatic person trying to run.

Also before the rework ogryn didn't really bring anything to the team in Havoc. He certainly wasn't missed.
Yes, you could beat H40 with ogryn ever pre-patch, but as someone who did that, it was abysmal to do, I am giant ogre man but I felt more fucking fragile than a piece of fine china in a tornado.
Now at least thanks to buffing Loyal Protector and other skills like hard knocks and soften them up and the stay close aura, he brings good stuff to havoc and I feel like an 600kg ogre man.

Still however I disagree with Tanner in that ogryn is now in a much, MUCH better state than he was before the rework. Especially for Havoc. He is OP, yes, but I'd rather a class that's OP than a class that's borderline useless.

But I'd still prefer to be able to run more than 20 meters without my ogryn suffering an asthma attack.
Ogryn already has plenty of trade offs compared to other human classes, for example he can't use all of them same routes as humans and can't vault through all windows because of his size which makes kiting enemies harder.
Also due to his size he has harder time taking cover because most of it is too small for him.
Letting me able to run for 5 more seconds without getting winded isn't gonna break the game.
But I do agree ogryn could do with some nerfs, like damage, but that's unlikely to happen because he is balanced for havoc not auric, but that's a whole another bad idea and can of worms I can't be bothered to get into.

It's not, that's made for humans specifically.
The bolters we use in darktide specifically say in their inspect description that the Lock Mk2b Spearhead Boltgun was made for the arbites to use.

Stuff like "Locke pattern bolter" just means that the weapon/the Standard Template Construct for that weapon was discovered or created on the planet of Locke.
That's the reason why in Darktide we get "Achlys pattern" combat axes, heavy stubbers and power mauls.

I came to the conclusion that yes arbiter and ogryn are overtuned but still the absolute bets optimized builds for the OG classes are easily as good as the best arbiter and ogryn can offer.

Fact of the matter is that every Ogryn eventually becomes a Rumblergryn because every other Ogryn ranged weapon sucks massive dick. Even if you take Rumbler out of the equation, every Ogryn weapon is still mediocre. There's no reason to bring anything else because they all suck and every one of your teammates will do a better job at gunning shit down than you will. There are set spawnpoints for monstrosities, captains and twins. Very rarely I think they can overlap, but it must be so rare that I don't see it often. If the game is truly spawning that many bosses it means someone is rushing and activating those spawns when they should instead be regrouping backwards. The real danger is when the game spawns a weakened monstrosity or several during a scripted bossfight.

I've ran with basically the same mod list forever and I randomly got an out of memory error a couple weeks ago, the one and only I ever got. I changed nothing before and nothing after.
In other words I wouldn't worry about it unlesss you get them frequently now. They CAN pop up randomly for no reason, probably some rare mod bug.

on another note. Is zealot kinda busted with the knife crit build? I can spam the ability which gives toughness, have throwing knives which one or two shot special enemies. have good toughness. The only thing i dont understand is where i get rending or brittleness from but otherwise, after playing veteran the whole day with the combat knife zealiot seems like easy mode.
