Just finished volume F

I didn't really cry. I mean, I got a little teary eyed during the Shiroko flashback, but it didn't go for long enough to do it for me, and it left me with a lot of questions, like what happened before the Chroma appeared and Shiroko killed everyone? How did the task force and sensei end up in that situation? I think I expected a bit more after looking at the "bad end" images from the PV, but they just flashed quickly without any elaboration.

I feel like I continue being critical, but it's not because I didn't like it, far from it, I loved it. I am glad I experienced everything in order. I just think there was potential for something greater, and they missed the mark a bit. I could stop playing right now and be satisfied knowing the main story is in some sort of limbo right now, but I love the characters too much to do it, I'm here for the long run.

I love the other Shiroko, and from the moment the limited evacuation teleports were introduced I knew exactly what was gonna happen, I even tried doing it in the battle before the game forced me to. I hope she appears again and I don't have to roll her to see more of her, she doesn't need to become Arius 2.0 being isolated from everyone else. She'll be in v1c3 if I had to guess, but she better be a permanent member of that club or I'm gonna shoot someone.

Blue Archive uses Kingdom Hearts style writing. That doesn't mean "convoluted bullshit", although of course that defines the series I'm mentioning, it means is dreiven by emotion, and care little for the details. That isn't to say nothing makes sense, it is to say "I don't need to know, all I need to do is feel". Sensei does this a lot. With Saori, he instantly helps her once she starts crying in front of him. Much later, he will do something similar with arguably an even more reprehensible and gross little child and will explain "When I see a child suffering, it's human instinct to rush to protect them". For Shiroko, all that really matters is the end result, not the details. You can somewhat figure out some of this stuff by looking at events that happen to us. Serika gets kidnapped in our story, and you will come to find in a later story that Sensei gets exploded (but because he has two A.R.O.N.A.s, he survives). Nonomi runs into trouble as well, it's explained what happened to Hoshino roughly. Actually the only unknown is Ayane at this point, but basically "Sensei was sent into a coma, and without his guidance things went very badly"

You are not going to be batting with end-game stuff for quite a while regardless. Every 6 months FES units appear again so you can theoretically get them there again. Also, at least one is usually rerun alongside new FES students.

Furthermore, most of this game is very doable with 1 and 2 star students. Like, very VERY doable. Them, or students you can "farm" for free.

When you hit max level you can start trying to worry about getting plat, if you really want to, but it's not the fuckin' end of the world if you can't plat Total Assaults. Total Assaults give 1200 pyrox for platinum, 1000 for gold, and so on, however all other content in the game is not really or literally not at all competitive, so you can coast and just get rewards. Grand Assault, for example, always gives a 10 pull as long as you participate. Platinum etc gives specific trophies.

The game is extremely manageable without meta students outside of ONE game-mode: "restriction release" or whatever. The one with "Set" out right now. This is specifically for very invested players with several 3 stars and meta girls. Without them, you might be able to make some progress but not a lot. That said, it doesn't even fucking matter. There are no rolls gained for doing this mode, only a unique resource for slightly buffing 5* students.

A feel good story where things should work out in the end, in a sea of edgeshit and depression bullshit. This game made it clear that the happy ending was always going to be the priority. I do think they wavered on that a bit in volume1 ch3, but overall the message of the game should be that everything should work out in the end. It doesn't matter if its a deus ex, it doesn't matter if its called cliche or contrived, Hifumi said its always better if its a happy ending. The core theme of the game is a story of youth and hope.
Other games kill characters every chapter; Blue Archive from the start is committed towards creating a good ending and saving everyone.

People were annoyed because it took half a year for Volume1 Ch3 to come out, because the devs decided to now release chapters in little segments at a time and end every segment on a cliffhanger so the chapter feels annoying. They've gotten a bit better at scheduling things again recently, but it should be three chapters per year(maybe six month period, I forget); not three volumes, but three chapters at least.
Didn't help that the only thing they released during those six months were just alts, and the release schedule became really shitty for awhile. They've gotten better at releasing not just alts again for a bit.

It's like many of the names used in the game. They're nice details and sound cool, but they have little relevance after a while. Abydos is and has many Egyptian themes but the story doesn't have a theme that really uses those well. It could be any other mythology that would fit into the story in a reasonable way.

Nobody knew what Plana was (some were like "Uhhh...Arona???"), nobody knew what Kuroko was doing, shooting star? What was even the premise etc. We even got "spoiled" on Peroro v Kaiten and we all know the actual thing in game was far cooler than we would've imagined.
