They can't lower the currency income, or release more than 2 characters per patch. Weapons are also guaranteed. So the only way for them to milk players is to "encourage" them to get characters they don't want with a risk of losing 50/50 and spending more.
Like all gacha companies, they are a gacha first, game second company.

I do love the game… BUT (a very normal rant)
They really aren’t subtle about things are they? I started playing because I thought Lingyang is adorable, then fell in love with the combat mechanics and gameplay style. I like the story and general look too.
BUT…
I don’t not understand the “gooner game” allegations. A lot of it is just blatant fan service and stuff and, as someone who is only passingly attracted to women, it feels a bit voyeuristic sometimes. I’m not saying you cant design sexy characters but it feels like thats all there is.
A lot of the female characters have good characterisation. For example, quite like Cantarellas character and colour palette. The outfit is horrible but I like the colours.
When I see guys talk about the new WuWa characters (usually female) it’s always “oh good, another waifu to collect” which feels kinda cheap. Feels like a proportion of players don’t want characters they just want stuff to get off too. Not to mention the slight amount of fetishistic content in character trailers?
To sum up, I want more male characters like Lingyang and Brant (I’ll get him on rerun), and I am salty. I think WuWa is a great game and so much more than just a waifu collectathon
P.S: Just started Septimont, why does Lupa’s armour have jiggle physics?

I dont know why I even dreamt of this since I haven't been playing wuwa for about two months now, but for some reason I dreamt of Changli having a husband?? I was really confused how wuwa was able to make one of the characters married and how the players were just chill with one of the waifus being married.
Anyways he was a playable character and kinda had the same fire motifs on his design that Changli has. He had strawberry blond hair that was short in the front but with longer strands in the back that were dark red. He had a jacket similar to hers but it was shorter and a bright red. He was kinda shorter than her too.
But yeah sorry if this doesn't fit this subreddit but I legit dont know why I dreamt up of a whole new character and he was just married to one of the characters.

At this point I am pretty sure Kuro makes male characters only for outside game stuff, like merch and collabs. Jiyan was the only important male character, Xiangli Yao was pure filler, Brant was a side character. And he friendzoned you and was shipping Rover with Carlotta like... what? XD a game with ML writing and a lot of unnecessary fanservice, but male fanservice is severely lacking. Kuro should learn from ZZZ devs. I am like 99% sure Qiuyuan is going to be another filler like Xiangli Yao was. 1% copium he is more than that.
Brant was the biggest slap in the face for mixed gender and husbando collectors imo, and also the biggest sign the game is for fragile, waifu purist cishet men.
When I went through that moment I was like wtf lol. Why is nobody commenting on this man literally giving off the most platonic, friend ship only- heck acquaintance only vibes and how he is literally canonically Rover x Carlotta's wingman? It's a step in the right direction that we have Carty seemingly going to be a recurring character in 2.x. She's still being followed by the influence of the Threnodian.
Another thing I also wish Kuro would do is make patches that are Rover focused. Meaning it's about building Rover's character. At this point, it's clear that Rover as a character is no longer just a self insert. It's as much of a character as the commander in Nikke. We just need Rover to have some room to flesh out their personality more. I think a one new banner patch like 2.5 is the best opportunity for them to do this kind of thing.

Also no new areas were released, and instead we got an end game mode that's almost impossible even for whales with maxxed out characters.
But it's all good though, they'll announce a standard character selector for the anni in a couple of months, and everyone will forget about these dry periods.
